God I hope Directv doesnt add OWN in HD...
The ones you posted I dont really care about. Other than Alf on the hub the rest of the channels I dont watch.

I dont watch it, dont care for her or her cronies (that would be Dr "I make ***t up as I go Phil and Dr Ooz) and I'd rather have a 24/7 HD channel of paid programs like Time Life's Music or the My Pillow (and I use to work there so I've seen that infomercial about 900 times) than OWN HD.
Best thing that happened when it launched? Since Directv considered it a new channel it was never added to my favorites list

OWN is a waste of space and one of the lowest rated channels and is losing so much and am waiting and can't wait for then new hd channels they have coming
Just because you don't like one of the personalities on a network doesn't mean the entire network is bad. I'm not going to condemn the History Channel because I don't like Larry the Cable Guy.
OWN has a higher quality-to-s*** ratio than some of the other networks DirecTV carries in HD. BET, MTV, the Golf Channel, Shorts, TCM, WGN America... now there's a waste of HD space.
I recommend the Our America with Lisa Ling series. The Police Women series also seems to have been moved to OWN from TLC with new episodes airing there. OWN is far from being the best cable channel but it isn't the worst either.
Also who the hell doesn't care about H2 HD? I thought this was the one channel that there was universal agreement on that this is a good addition. H2 is far better than the crap that History is now.
On the Verizon FiOS TV forums H2 seems to be the most requested channel as well.

What is or is not a waist is subjective. What is quality and what is junk is too subjective. If you were to simply go by ratings to determine what is or is not a waste of bandwidth, all of those channels you listed as well as OWN are a waste. But WGN America does show sports and during that time it has higher ratings than any of the other channels you listed, including OWN.

Encore Action and Drama are in HD, but, why don't they give us east and west feeds of Encore and The Movie Channel in HD? It's already fed and there is plenty of space on Directv satellites.

If Oprah Winfrey Network was performing as greatly successful, its HD, without doubt, would get added.

See we can argue about this all day. No matter what channel Directv, Dish, Comcast, Fios, Time Warner, Charter, even the podunk company my uncle has people are going to be happy when a channel is added and some people will whine because "there is nothing good on it"
Me, I'm happy with what I have and will have and might have. Everything else is icing on the cake. The reality of it is, no matter how many gazillion HD channels there are on D*, on a regular basis, I will only watch the following: MSNBC, ID, Military, CNN, Link, MLB, NFL, NBA, Fox Sports, Comcast Sports Bay Area, and if there's a really good series on HBO or Showtime, i.e., Game of Thrones, I'll watch it. I'm not sure if the Military channel will be on HD someday. But if it is, then that completes my list.

While cable companies remove analog for bandwidth, Directv could start to remove SD channels to save bandwidth. Over a relatively short period of time, get rid of SD duplicates in the system, period.
Chances are, a good portion of these customers would be long-time customers and probably deserve some sort of freebee to make up for all the new, cool stuff us newer customers get for free all the time. I realize the cost to replace SD equipment on that scale makes this highly unlikely, if not impossible. But eventually - as in years from now, you'd think people would figure it out. SD TVs can't last forever... then what?

sad part is they are STILL installing SD only receivers and DVR's

I agree with EVERYTHING you said here ....
The ONLY channel in that list that would be watched at all in my house is the H2 in HD, and thats only occasionally ...
Thats why I'm not yelling to ADD more channels in HD, Add more and more.
I think everything I watch is IN HD, with the exception to individual programs that may not be in HD, but thats another story , channels that Are HD but not all the content is, which also, IS understandable.
