I found a few multi C-band LNB holders and was wondering if anyone has tried one. I found several designs for dual and quad lnbs. I only found 1 on eBay, from China. Others I found doing a web search, but apparently none sold in the US???. Any thoughts? One description for the dual one says 10° separation. Didn't find anything for the quad one.

Its on my "list" of stuff to get but I wanted one with built in scalar like this:

Yes, I have tested a few designs. The best performance was with a dual unit like mr3p posted. The claim of 10 degree is bunk as the convergence points for multi-satellite reception varies based on the reflector FD/FL.

If mounting on a motorized dish, place the second feedhorn as close to the primary to optimize performance. Also important to note that the additional scalars and LNBFs mounted on a prime focus dish will increase the shadow and start reducing the amount of gathered signal. So don't get too carried away and add too many... :)

I was going to ask at what point does the center obstruction degrade the signal and also does the cable have to be split to use another LNB and would that not also reduce the signal. Or is this more for use with a second receiver and a second home run for the additional receiver?

To bad I didn't have anything better to ask for my "100th" post. :whoo

Switch between them using a 22Khz switch or Diseqc on a single receiver, or
Connect the multiple LNBs to a multiswitch and enjoy multiple sats on multiple receivers.

Here is my setup, all stationary dishes, some with multi-lnb setup, all sats available to all receivers at all times.

You want something like this, a 4x1 (4 way) diseqc switch:

Ok,so this is what I could use with the dual LNB holder and add a second "Dual LNB" NS741 and have 4 LNBs in the place of two. Would this be the preferred method to add a second receiver?

I am going to study your diagram and try to get my head around this. Since I got into FTA I have really wanted to add a receiver to the bedroom TV and I am looking at something like this vs an HDMI splitter after the MicroHD. Although I would have to watch the same thing on both TV's I would only need the 1 VBOX to move the dish.

Read up on mutiswitches if you want to watch different things on two different receivers:

After reading about multiswitches, you will notice that watching different things on different TVs would require switching all Lnbfs to dual output models. That may not be practical since I see you have a combo C\Ku, each lnbf with only a single output.

Here is a different angle.

Why would you have it so close?
2 LNBF at the same satellite?
Why would you need if you have a motorized dish?

Some mount a circular polarity feedhorn next to a linear polarity on a motorized dish for optimized reception of the international satellites.

Otherwise, mount the multi-LNBFs on a fixed fish for simultaneous multi-satellite reception.
