The Mandalorian - Disney+

Looks intriguing for sure. I hear it is supposed to be a bit darker than the regular Star Wars stuff (although one can argue that Episode III is pretty dark). I wonder if we will ever get to the point of an R rated Star Wars movie/show. It would be very against what the original movies are, but I can see a demand for it with those who grew up with the softer side of SW.

Since nothing R-rated would ever appear on Disney+, and given the franchise's targeted audience, I would say that's quite a long shot. Something can be dark but still be rated PG-13 or TV-14, like some of the CW shows (e.g., The 100 and Black Lightning). I'm not sure how much a bounty hunter or rebel spy dropping a bunch of F-bombs, or nude bodies running around a brothel (a la GOT), or bodies getting hacked and mutilated into bloody messes would add to these stories anyway.

I don't agree nothing R rated will be on Disney+. They own the Fox studios now. I find it hard to believe that they aren't going to put that content on their streaming platform. I'm sure it will be partitioned off from the kids stuff, but fully expect them to put it on there. You don't think they are going to put a Deadpool movie on the streaming service if/when they make another one?

I believe it was mentioned when Disney+ was first announced months ago, but now it's been confirmed that Disney+ will not have any R-rated content.

That's unfortunate. There is a point at which I don't want to search 7 different apps to find the shows I'm looking for. Becomes very frustrating for the consumer. Although I get it from their perspective. I wouldn't have otherwise had any interest in Hulu. Maybe they will do an R rated Star Wars on Hulu...

Leia: I'd rather *&@$^ a Wookie…
Han: I can arrange that!

I dunno, I think they better not mess with "Star Wars" any more than it's already been messed with, given all the Lucas tweaks over the decades.

Now, if they went dark with "The Mandalorian" and put it on Hulu, fine.

This guy certainly found an audience:

Didn't Boba Fett get eaten in Jedi? So wouldn't it be prior to that?
Ok, a google search tells me that the Mandalorian isn't Boba Fett and is instead another bounty hunter.

Curious as to why someone else who dress the same though, as out of all the bounty hunters shown in Empire & Jedi, only Boba wore that type of outfit. But of course strong writing hasn't exactly been a strength of the Disney Star Wars.

The armor worn by the main character (as well as Boba and Jango Fett from the movies) is the traditional armor of a Mandalorian warrior - from the planet Mandalore. Think of it like medieval armor. All the knights wore similar armor, but with personal modifications. The Mandalor culture was fleshed out a little more in the Clone Wars and Rebels TV series, which are canon.
