    Adding 2nd receiver

rv1pop, that would work and I've considered that but I would prefer that my main media room receiver/amplifier can be used for other purposes at the same time (but not the FTA) I'd prefer a standalone system in my audio closet if I can..but it's definitely worth reconsidering...thanks!

    Adding 2nd receiver

ke4est or anyone else, I thought however there was no magic splitter switch to split satellite signal? Won't I still have the odd/even transponder issue with this switch or is this the answer? Otherwise, yup....simple A/B switch it is...

    Adding 2nd receiver

I'm using a c/Ku 741 lnbf (single output) for a single receiver in my house. I now want to use a 2nd receiver I have hanging around for just audio in another room. Is there a particular switch I can use to cut into my main rg6 run in my house to add my 2nd receiver? I realize I would usually...

    Canning Cable from Three Directions

It it's Moto Canopy 900Mhz, then its for a reason. Also, the 900 MHz radios do 4 Meg's max. They absolutely can use reflectors on Canopy they likely just choose not to. But, a reflector isn't going to help you get onto a 5.8 AP. Trees in the way, and any distance then there's no other option.

Satellite AV Contest - GEOSATpro microHD - Enter to Win - Drawing on 6/11/2012

When I was just but a wee whittle one, my friends and I would always head to the edge of our property and build our forts by cutting a small "room" out of the tall ferns. We'd then build roads throughout them for our wagon/ riding toys....oh the fun..

    Need help with Manhattan 1933

Skysurfer, I agree with your statement about how much content is on a satellite to be scanned determining scan times. One person's Manhattan isn't going to greatly differ from another's scanning the same satellite. One bird might take 2, one might take 10. Other than content quantity, I doubt...

Mike kohl on sat talk live

For those of us not from the 4dtv era, names mean nothing. You can't go wrong with referencing orbital location. 91 C or KU is all that is needed and works every time

best way to install sat on vinyl siding?

I used one of these siding savers for my 30" dish and it worked just fine. These units will fit a couple different standard sizes of vinyl siding (D4, D5 etc). http://sidingsaver.ca/ Not the easiest things to find in store but you can get them online I believe too. Worked quite nice.

best way to install sat on vinyl siding?

Toucan, if the ground is pretty firm and you don't live in a place where the ground is constantly saturated with water, then you can get away with it. Remember though that Ku has tighter tolerances than C-band so any movement will really effect things. I did it for my 6' cband with no issues...

    Manhattan Update 3.3 thread

Darn happy here to see full 22Khz functionality back! So much so that I was able to reconnect the 22khz switch back up on my DMX741, put the hat back on the feedhorn of the dish and button er up for winter. Nice touch too in terms of the extra info that shows up when pressing the info button...

Best media player for streaming to TV

Have a look at the Patriot Box Office. It's been one of the first ones out there and does the job real well. I've had one of these since day one and can say I've burned through more Western Digital hard drives than this Patriot unit has even flinched. But really, at the end of the day they all...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

Well, I'm seeing so many little caveats to all the different things I'm trying to explain that I'm getting a little frustrated and I really can't type enough to describe them all. FTA is a hobby and we enjoy tinkering like this, but at some point, I do enjoy actually "watching it" without having...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

Ahhh, ok so its automatic. But, then there is still no way to store a position for multiple birds so the Manhattan can drive the v-box.

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

stone1150, not sure how you can still have 22khz options still available. When I set the antenna up as "motorized" there is no 22Khz option...if I set it up as "fixed" and select "universal, 5150-10750" the 22Khz option becomes unselectable...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

brentb636, I still see signal on both ports when I specify so I can only assume it works...the receiver does seem to store the port I specify when I go back and forth between birds, just not showing signal. But on the motor setting screen, flipping between satellites does not store the port...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

Yes, using the switch because I have a C/KU lnbf on the big dish. I would prefer to use 22Khz but I see on the Manhattan, there is nowhere to set a position # at the same time I use 22Khz. Basically there is still not a 22Khz option in the motor settings window if using "motorized antenna" setup.

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

I did just notice something, while in the motor setting window and selecting a satellite (which sends it off motoring) it never saves the diseqC port I specify. Back and forth between 2 satellites I've saved and it does not save the port. I suspect that's where the problem is...someone has got...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

Ok, we've got some good theories going with the possible decoder issues now. Can anyone reproduce my issue with no signal after a dish move? I'm using a v-box and setting the Manhattan to talk to it via DiseqC commands. That part works great...but no satellite signal when the dish gets to its...

    Manhattan 3.2 Firmware Update

Got this new firmware loaded, set up my positions using the DiseqC commands but finding something odd. When the receivers tells my Vbox to move my dish, it moves where it's supposed to but does not tune a live channel/transponder that I know is there. For example, I watch history on 101 and...

Who Bought a Manhattan, But Now Not Using it?

The question of who beta tested these and missed is a very valid point. When I brought up the motor control issue on one of the sat radio shows, one of the engineers I believe it was, went off on me about how people aren't using those types of features and on and on. Many people in the FTA hobby...
