Question about Bell receiver upgrade to HD

I know this is an older thread, BUT Bell is now sending out 6500 receivers to replace the SD receivers as they will be shutting down all the SD channels sometime around April or so. I suspect they will shut down due to sell the space on the older SD bird.

    Taxes

Actually, it is because Dish (they love to charge you!) charges you for owning a receiver. So whether you own it or lease it Dish charges you $7 or !0 or whatever as a "fee". The state then charges tax on the FEE. If Dish wasn't gouging the owners of equipment with their "receiver" fees you...

...call out to Dish (no network in these rooms) and they are not dialing out successfully since the switch over. I need to set the dialing prefix to *99 and cant locate a way to put the * in the prefix. I know Direct and others have a hidden menu that can be accessed when it brings up a...

    ViP722 & Home Distribution (TV2)

That was my first troubleshooting idea, and no luck. tried even & odd with no change. It appears to be the receiver and the Dual Mode that is causing the lockup, crash and going back to Single Mode. I tried changing the diplexer, cables and moved the 722 to one of the 211 spots...

    ViP722 & Home Distribution (TV2)

Hopefully this is not a bad 722, but last night I went to watch SciFi on TV2 and nada. Had to go to the theatre room, and unplug the 722, wait till it went through it's checks and finally came back. Then turned to 135 and THEN the dual mode lit up and was able to watch TV2 again and control...

    ViP722 & Home Distribution (TV2)

I have a 722 that I got in May of this year to replace one of my 211s. Finally got around to configuring the Home Distribution (TV2) to my second floor (722 in basement). A lot of problems with getting the UHF remote working, it's 25 feet hotizontal/22 feet vertical or 35 feet diaganol...

Thinking of going from a 622 to a Hopper - Worth doing?

Some of us do not like leases and prefer to own our "stuff", whether it is a car, house, computer or a Dish receiver. We actually pay something called cash...lol, no credit, loans, etc.

Best place to get a new Hopper

I haven't been paying much attention to the Hopper/Joey threads, BUT... I have four ViP211s currently (owned) on a DPP44 from a 1000.2 western arc. I would like to have one TV with a dual tuner option, so it is either a 722 or a Hopper. Has Dish relented yet allowing you to install a...

722k hooking up - please help

One quick question... What does the aspect ration and image look like on the HD TVs running off the home Distribution coax? Do you get 16 x 9 or does it show as 4 x 3 with black/grey bars?? Has anyone ever managed to find and tech docs on Home Distribution and if so where can I see them...

Dish charges shipping for broken receivers? And, other musings on my super-dead 722K.

I just had a failed owned unit and had the same story. First there was going to be a courtesy one time no cahrge replacement and I would be charged $15 for shipping (a great deal). Then the bill came and it was outrageous. I was charged for the IRD and the shipping. The IRD fee was $75 and I...

    Will these f-type connectors work?

A quick call/e-mail to Leviton asking if the part number is 3 Ghz rated is all you need to do. If it is proceed, if not return as not as specified and get a new set. Simple as that.

    Pricing Update from Dish Network

Bell doesn't charge for additional receivers period! Bell doesn't charge a fee if you "own" a receiver. Bell doesn't charge to activate the external HD on the ViP211k equivelant receiver. Bell doesn't charge for having a DVR. Of course Bell doesn't have SyFy... lol Hmmm....

    Upgrading to dish 1000.2

Iceberg, One question... I was looking at a friends setup. She has two ViP211ks connected to a DPP44 switch connected to a 1000.2 here in Grand Forks. All cables are RG6, short runs, and good signal strength. Considering the runs from the 1000.2 are each long enough to reach the IRDs...
