Have had it for almost a year now. Strictly satellite thru wild blue. Great speed for satellite (used to have starband). Of course still the lag time to get started but for those of us who don't have access to any cable service it's just great.
We have the same problem in AK with Starz. There was a thread on this a few weeks ago. The channels show as non-available in the 300 range but in the 9000 series they are there. Why this occurs only Dish knows but they aren't telling. Look in the 9000 series channels and see if you can find...
Full page ad in the Anchorage Daily News this morning from Dish that says "Your local NBC station wants you to pay for every commercial you skip, what's next? A surcharge for sleeping through ads? Just say no to an outrageous price increase for your channel. Visit dishvaluepledge.com or call...
The Anchorage AK NBC station is also owned by Schurz Communications and we see the same message that we are going to loose Channel 2 because their deal with Dish expires. Looks like we'll be without NBC for awhile.
MaryB@Dish, one of the DIRT reps here, handled my last complaints last week. Maybe if you personally e-mail her she can do more checking on it. It is lame, especially the sudden unauthorized to watch messages for sports.
We in Alaska have the same problems. Saturday the football game on espn2 suddenly became unauthorized, then disappeared from the schedule. Some of the Starz channels show up with a not authorized symbol, the international no entry sign, on the description of the show going on, but these can be...
Now another problem is occurring. I was watching football on espn 2, channel 144 HD, and when the football game came on at 11:30 alaska time, 3:30 est I get an error code 013 pop up on my screen, stating this is a subscription channel which has not been purchased! Needless to say I’ve...
Yes Mary, thanks for your help. By the way, the channel numbers appear in the guide but when you try to tune to them it shows the error message. This is on my hopper-joey setup.
Agree totally! Now if we could get dish to tell us something. Nice to know it's not just happening with one receiver or just here locally.
DIRT, where are you?
A neighbor and I are having the same problem here in AK. I have a hopper and they have a 722. These are channels that we have been receiving for years (and we pay for as part of our packages). The channels we have with a 743 code are 350, 354, and 356. Channel 388 comes up with a 744 code...
Used PTAT last season and love it except for one item. The end of the PTAT is 10:01 local. The whole problem for us in Alaska is that most of the prime time shows end later due to the insertion of countless local ads. There is no adjustment for ending times in PTAT. Seems like it should be...
I'd like to add one. Make the PTAT stop time adjustable. Now it sits at a +1 minute. Make this adjustable to plus 5 or even more. Don 't know about other places but in Alaska the prime time never stops on time, (the hour mark), and usually ends up at least 3 minutes into the next hour...
Maybe where you live, but in Alaska the network shows always end late. The local stations insert commercials into every show. I've timed commercials on the local CBS station at 4 1/2 minutes, in a row. Most every night the local news starts at 10:03 or so. I believe this is because the...
Just had a hopper and joey installed and have a quick question. Is there any way to extend the PTAT stop time past the normal stop time. I see it is defaulted to 10:01 (our prime time is 7:00 to 10:00) Almost all broadcast shows run at least 3 minutes long. I don't want to have to use...
Here in Soldotna , farther South than you, we have to use a 6' dish to get all the channels from 129. A 4' dish has been tried, but all it picks up successfully is the spot beams. I have a 30", a 36" and a 6' dish for 110, 119, and 129.
I received a reply from Dish stating that it was channel 2's problem and it would be about a week or so. No details were provided. The CBS problem was corrected by Dish. Dishquality does work for problems.
Thanks Ice. I used it a couple of years ago but couldn't remember if it was correct. They answered my e-mail and corrected the transponder problem then and I'm going to try them again.
The HD was on 129 originally. When I press info twice on chan 5608 for info it shows 119 as the satellite and the HD logo is behind the 119 so it seems like 119 does have the HD channel. I believe it moved to 119 when the new sat went to 119. The HD channel is showing SD only. Not picture...
According to the dishchannelchart on the top of this page, if you go to 119 sat under subscription it list the following.
5608
KTUU
Anchorage, AK - NBC
MPEG4 HD
119°W
02
8PSK (2/3)
Spotbeam A25
Available
We've had this channel for a couple of years and NOW has turned...
Perhaps the Dish Network Team can answer this. The local channel 2, KTUU from Ancorage has been in HD for quite awhile now but is now back to SD. This channel is 5608 on 119, spot A25. High Def programs show up as picture framed, black bars top, bottom and both sides. Thanks for your help.
