I just haven't had the time lately. And I will admit the drive since I do not have Dish. Creating all those jpgs in Google Earth takes quite a bit of time. Plus matching all those TIDs to beams. I will put this on my schedule again for this weekend.

Because the chose an antiquated switching tech in the Hopper. Switching in an entire 500mhz for one tuner when only 250mhz is usable and 20mhz is used. Dumb.
-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"
Yep. We watch half and half pretty much. It would really be a fight if I downgraded from 9 tuners to 3. Plus the unified list between the dvrs means less IT questions at home.
I don't get the speed thing. I never wait on the HR34.
-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"
Maybe by next year when my 2 yr is up with direct they will have the integration issues fixed. I am too spoiled with the scalable system right now with one unified play list and it would suck going down from 9 tuners to 6.
-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"
Yep. Slap the sling inside. Slap a wifi baseband chip inside. Slap a Directv nomad in it. Don't add new hardware of today. Explain why you don't need more than 3 tuners and call it new tech. Sounds just like Apple.
-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"
Yeah Directv shot themselves in the foot with the slave style boxes too. Kinda kills the deal with some of the limitations it brings.

For what you pay for TV today you shouldn't have to deal with the nonsense of only 3 tuners in a household. It might work if you were living alone. Might.
It's not worth the frustration if you had one hopper and 4 people in the house. Maybe half your stuff would get recorded.
I know if I had...
No unless you have the exact schedule they are changing each tid.
Signal strength is not in the stream. Will just have to see a day or two of wrong names on some transponders. Not a huge deal.

Nope. The TID is the identifier. Where the data is pulled there is no pretty names like Echostar-12 TP 12 Spotbeam 1A or whatever, just like there's nothing in the streaming saying WABC New York,NY-ABC, or HBOE (HBO Entertainment) along with the link. That's all data I have from other sources...
Is this wrong? ;)

"Why is yours backwards!!??"

Actually I think that is backwards as well. 2012/11/12 is how it should be written. I guess that's the programmer and DBA in me though. The wife fusses me and says I write dates backwards! I just laugh and don't waste the time to explain.
More power = less signal fade = less error correction needed = more room for video
They previously ran 2/3 error correction looks like they will do 3/4 on some feeds resulting in 48 mbits of video instead of 42.

For the most part Isaac was a hugely over done. I was outside walking the neighborhood several times during the storm. Seen thunderstorms with more rain and wind than that.

They are just going to sit on it like they have in the past with other licenses.
Look at the 6mhz unpaired of 700mhz they have been sitting on. Dumb move buying that piece of garbage.

That channel was great when it was zdtv. Went down hill quick when it changed.
I haven't seen LMR400 in forever! So much easier with cat5 poe units these days.

You may be able to hear the signal in the other location but the laptop will not be able to send back. You have to have the same thing on both sides for a decent connection.
I do agree the homemade way is very cool and gives that satisfaction. But also I don't like hearing people bitch and...
Yes and they have some massive parabolic antennas as well.
I have used Engenius products, modded linksys, etc and stumbled upon ubiquiti and wow. They have some impressive products that still amaze me today on how well some of these wifi links work.
The ubiquiti forums are great. Lots of...
