Echostar 16 Launch - November 20 2012

EchoStar 16 has been successfully loaded with fuel and now proceeds to assembly with the Brize M/Proton launch system.
 
Echostar 16 Launch Time has been set:

Ignition: 1:31 PM Eastern Standard Time, November 20, 2012

+ 00:02:00 Proton 1/2 stage separation
+ 00:05:27 Proton 2/3 stage separation
+ 00:05:47 Payload Fairing Separation
+ 00:09:42 Breeze M Separation
+ 00:11:16 1st Stage Breeze Igniton
+ 01:07:43 2nd Stage Breeze ignition
+ 03:28:06 3rd Stage Breeze Ignition
+ 03:40:01 4th Stage Breeze Separation

Echostar 16 will then be moved into geostationary orbit at 67W for testing. Figure a couple of weeks to complete that move. When testing is complete, it will be moved to it's permanent location at 61.5W.

More power = less signal fade = less error correction needed = more room for video

They previously ran 2/3 error correction looks like they will do 3/4 on some feeds resulting in 48 mbits of video instead of 42.

Why does the post before this one mention 12/11/2012? I assume the launch is set for 11/20 as it has been for a while.

European style dates go day/month/year (kinda makes sense going smallest to largest division). 12/11/2012 in Europe is 11/12/2012 to us backwards Americans, the day the press release came out.
 
Dumb question.

I notice Mobile, Al (my market) is on the list for this satellite. I have an install set for 11/23, does it matter at this point whether they use a WA or an EA setup?

61.5W is eastern arc. One must be careful in predicting coverage. They will probably only use 50 or so of the available 71 spots and just because they have the capability of providing local service from a given spot does not mean they will do so.
