    Live from Team Summit

I'm sorry but D*'s unit has some major useability issues. Like when you want to view recordings on a remote TV it takes control of the main TV and then you can't watch a different show on that TV.

FTA Newbie starting with a Super Dish

Not all the all the LNBs with those lot numbers are bad, but almost all the bad ones I see have those lot numbers. I like the super dish LNBs they are on average the are pretty reliable, at one point there were over a million in use, but I only have to service the bad ones. Even the bad ones...

    Question about multi-switches

When the system was first under construction some of the receivers were chained together because the because the XXL power strip had not arrived yet and we were short outlets. They are all plunged in individually now.

FTA Newbie starting with a Super Dish

Probably. What happens is the LO frequency starts to drift and the hotter the LNB is the more it drifts. If it drifts off by more than about 5Hz-10Hz(depends on make and model of receiver) the the receiver will no longer be able to read the signal. The symptoms of this is that your raw signal...

    Question about multi-switches

I purchased them through sadoun satellite sales, and they replaced the doa receiver for me at no cost. What is the difference between you and sadoun? I am soon to be in need of four more rack-mountable receivers and want some thing I can trust.

FTA Newbie starting with a Super Dish

what is the lot# on your 121 array? When Dish first started manufacturing them they had problems with quality control so much so that they issued recalls on lot numbers P310, P311, P312, P410, P411, and P412. Through Experience I have found that lots P30-P45 are also usually bad also. Lots...

    Question about multi-switches

The problems I've had with them is that we purchased five of them (one was a spare) and three of them have malfunctioned, one was dead out of the box, another the menus can't be used with out restarting it first, and a third the power outlet on the back won't pass power through. Also two of the...

    Question about multi-switches

Pictures 1,2&3 are of the FTA dishes. The Fortec Star is pointed at G19@97W the other dish is pointed at SES1@101W. Something important that I forgot to mention is that in addition to individual FTA receivers in the classrooms there also is a headend system and a Directv L-band distribution...

    Question about multi-switches

Finished, Sort of. We installed all the hardware, and set the receivers to see the dish configuration, but still need to set the channel order. A minor problem I know but every time I go there the customer has some thing he wants changed or added, not that I'm complaining because he pays us...

    Question about multi-switches

Test results Started testing yesterday. Finished this AM. Photo of dishes and switch. The SD is pointed at G19 (97) and the 1m dish is pointed at SES-1 (101). THe blind scan of SES-1 was kinda boring because there is not a lot of programming on it. The signal strength was rather on the low...

    Sharp LNBF Lo 10750

Mike many dishnetwork LNBs are manufactured buy Sharp Electronics and if you pull off the cover will say Sharp in nice big letters, but as I said earlier I believe he has accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

    Question about multi-switches

I have finished the feedhorns. I had to make a change in plans. Turns out that the superdish feed horn was too small in diameter and could not be threaded. So we cut out the tubes and flange area from the legacy quad. We turned them down on at lathe and drilled the matching holes. Note: the...

    Question about multi-switches

I've started working on the custom feed horns. I started by opening a bunch of old LNBs and got lucky I found a legacy quad where the feedhorn can be unscrewed from the LNB (pic#1). Because of this I've decided to take part of the Superdish feedhorn (pic#2) separate the round tube and thread it...

    Question about multi-switches

Thank you every one for all the advice. I talked to the customer yesterday, he decided to go with the superdish LNBs and 4 DP34 switches. I feel most comfortable with this any ways, because I have had much more experience with DishNetwork equipment. The installation won't happen until the snow...

    Question about multi-switches

All I have are 121 arrays, 105 super dishes weren't in my area, but I wasn't planing to brake out the hack saw. The electronics are just held on by four screws so I was planing on just detaching it and reattaching a different feedhorn. I have a couple of junk LNBs I think I can borrow the...

3 sat set up with legacy lnbs

A better option is 119/110/129/61.5 using a 1000.2 dish and a 61.5 wing. It would be cheaper and you would not have to run any extra cables. If you already have all MPEG4 HD equipment the best option is 77/72.7/61.5 with 1000.4 dish. EDIT: External switches/connections are to be avoided if at...

    Question about multi-switches

Thank you for the advice. I would like to know more about band stacked LNBs. The dish (soon to be dishes) is located on the roof ten floors up and I already have a dual cable running up there and it would be a pain to run a second pair up there. Cadsulfide you said I could use DP34s. As a...

    Question about multi-switches

I am modfying a system that I have installed in a language school. I currently have a 1m dish pointing at G19 @ 97w and we are feeding 12 SatHawk recievers through a multi-switch. The customer wants to add SES-1 @ 101w and be able to see all the channels from both satellites on all of the...

    Odd 622 behavior

No it is not a hard drive problem, It is a miscellaneous software glitch. I have seen similar problems on my 625 and 722k. Some versions of the software cause some receivers to act up (despite what Dish says not all receivers are created equal). A good example of this is when I first started if...

Just did a self install cannot get picture. signal strength is good.

Clear the check switch matrix. if it still says 119 or 110 it will not lock on to eastern arc satellites. To clear the matrix disconnect the sat feed from the receiver and run check switch, let it count to 38, then restart the receiver it should then lock on to eastern arc satellites.
