Trouble with WRC-TV Channel 4-1 Washington DC

We DO receive both WETA and WPXW, plus many other channels with towers in DC like WTTG. If fact, we get most of the channels coming from DC and Baltimore. I think your original answer really did point us in the right direction. Not ready yet to go to ATSC 3.0 since Mom just got rid of her old...

Trouble with WRC-TV Channel 4-1 Washington DC

I had totally missed the other UHF 34 WSVF-CD on Massanutten Mt. It now seems clear that Mom's antenna can "see" both WRC-TV in Washington, DC and WSVF-CD. However, when WRC-TV was on UHF 48 - - it was one of the strongest channels - even though we are behind the 1750' Blue Ridge Mt. which...

My brother and I have been working at my Mom's house near Berryville, VA (22611) to try to get WRC-TV 4-1 from Washington, DC. First the setup and what we have tried so far. The antenna is a combo antenna from about 1982 and is about 11 feet long with both VHF and UHF sections (we don't...

[MicroHD - MINI HD - HDVR1200] FTA Receivers For Sale

My microHD just died. Might be interested in microHD or HDVR1200. How would you compare the two for running a KU motorized and 3 fixed dishes? Especially, 30W and 97W to include non-standard modes. Except for 4:2:2 if I can scan it in - - - can I see it? Things like KTV 2.

    Viewsat 8000HD

Yes, I still have one and it also has a very good ASTC tuner that works if you have the right firmware. They did have some CAP issues and I had to replace several CAP's but still a very good receiver with excellent fine motor control. I would definitely grab it!

    The Whimsical World of FTA

We recently had some pretty high winds that turned my 10 foot Channel Master at least 50 or 60 degrees off where it should be. I just repointed it - - - trying to get back on 58W and very much by accident ended up on 55.5W Intelsat 805 (well I can tell you for sure I'm staying on 55.5W). It...

    Question about AZBox Elite HD

I usually do firmware with fear and trembling. I have bricked computers and other devices because of failed firmware upgrades. I'm sticking with 0.9.5309 because I'm mainly using this as a satellite receiver right now. All the other functionality, I have not even started to play with yet...

    Question about AZBox Elite HD

Guys, I appreciate all the input. I got my problems solved - - - the thread has kinda spun out into left field somewhere. Here is my take away. The 0.9.5xxx firmware's are the best specifically 0.9.5309, 5020 and 5402 (thanks for the great feedback) AZBox should be my primary receiver...

    Question about AZBox Elite HD

What a great suggestion - in fact i just did it. I looped out off the AZBox to my microHD (AZ primary and micro secondary). All motor controls come off the AZBox. I can now blind scan any satellite using the micro and if I find something cool move the data over to the AZBox and scan it back...

    Question about AZBox Elite HD

I just got an AZBox Elite HD - - - thanks phlatwound Anyway, so far the first thing I did was update the firmware to 0.9.5309 using a USB - - no issues. i have several questions how folks are setup using an AZBox. Do most folks have them setup using a Loop out from another receiver? I ask...

    Micro HD

I wonder what issue you are having? I have my microHD running an Ortho dual with two Norsat LNB's no problems at all. The dish is fixed on 58W and I get 65 channels ITC. Maybe you have an Ortho with both C-band and KU - - - still that should work.

    Review of Manhattan RS-1933

I got it from GotCband.com for $98 which I thought was a great deal. I have not read this entire thread yet but it seems like most if not all of the initial bugs have been ironed out. Also, I really like the fact that this receiver is supported here in North America and they have really done...

    Review of Manhattan RS-1933

I got a Manhattan RS-1933 for Christmas! Actually, I bought for myself and told my wife that is what I want for Christmas. :) Anyway, I love this receiver and I cannot believe more folks are not singing its praises. I like the size - larger than a microHD - the Manhattan measures 11" wide x...

Confirmed. Sky Angel is out of business as of January 14th.

I had Sky Angel both on satellite and the IPTV streaming. I paid the "lifetime" membership - - and frankly I feel like Sky Angel cheated me and many others. It is almost funny to go look at the old threads when they went from satellite to IPTV. i do not wish them ill, but I could see this...

It seems strange but my favorite Christmas was 1967 when I was 7 years old. I remember my family had moved into the house the year before and it was so cool to have the whole family together including my Grandmother. The only thing I remember I got was a little train that if you put it on a...

Cleaning off oak tree lichen off 10ft dish

I had to get it off a smaller dish and used warm, soapy water and a soft bristled brush. Patience is important - - - even working on a small dish it took about 30 minutes to get the stuff off. As much as possible you want to avoid damaging the surface of the dish. I assume the dish is...
