good luck. seems to me at least that the older sw-Xx gear causes problems with 942's. if you can i would upgrade to the DPP gear now. The bigger question is what other receivers you have.

what switch or lnb's you have? go to the system info screen. should say something like DAP quad or DAP twin or dish 500 quad. I have a feeling you have older lnbs/switch gear and that seems to be problematic for new receivers like the 942 and 625. let us know.

I have no problem with the noise. I have fans that run 24/7 to cool my 942 and my 510. I am just pointing out than most people don't like the noise.
