    522 Post superbowl issue?

i've had this same problem in the past. i haven't really tried to isolate the fix for it, but either wait until all recordings are done, or shut off the reciever, turn it back on, it should work. also, if you try it on one tv and it doesn't work, try it on the other. the show isn't lost, but it...

    guide sorted "backwards"

no you're fine...i started it, so i'll allow it :) it's related anyway. when you think about it, it does make sense to press up and get the higher channels, but i think when you're accustomed to it being the opposite, it's hard to adjust to dish's way of doing things. if i had grown up on...

    guide sorted "backwards"

yeah, i tried searching around for it, but couldn't find anything...just wanting to see if anyone had any luck finding something. i'm just so use to my old cable (sorry, i had to say it)

    guide sorted "backwards"

This isn't a big deal, but when you hit the guide button the channels are listed with the lowest channel on the buttom, making you page up to go through the list. I'm so use to paging down to get the higher channels that it's a bit annoying. Is this something with just the 522 or is that the way...

    necessity of phone line?

good idea...didn't think about that. it would save me the hassle of running a new line...although it would be a project to keep me busy...not that i'm not already busy enough :)

    Another one bails.....

well, i just got rid of my cable dvr, only because I moved to an area that is covered by adelphia, and they do not offer dvr...and they're pretty expensive. I really liked the dvr Time Warner had...really no complaints. the only problem i had, was some choppiness in sound of movies on demand and...

    necessity of phone line?

i know you need a phone line to recieve updates. how often do you actually need the line to be connected? The reason i ask is that the closest working phone line is in a different room than my tv. I eventually will run a line to the tv, but in the mean time, if i only need it hooked up...

no install - hopefully not a sign of things to come

i understand being over booked...and i wouldn't have really cared if it was just him being late...but don't tell me it's because you have to drop your girlfriend off somewhere...at least make something up or just don't give an excuse. i also don't think the mix up with not having the dish to...

no install - hopefully not a sign of things to come

well...i was all excited this past saturday. I was moving to a new house and the dish guy was supposed to come between 8 and 12 to install my dish and get me all set up. well...i got a call around 11 or so from the installer saying that his boss handed him the order late and he didn't know...

    different satellites, different channels, d*/e*...confused

great...thanks for pointing that out...i didn't drill down that far to find it. i guess my confusion was for nothing then.

    different satellites, different channels, d*/e*...confused

yeah...sun dance channel. on that chart that you posted a link to, it shows that it's available under the the AEP package...doesn't show it at all on dish's site

    different satellites, different channels, d*/e*...confused

i think i get the gist of it now. i just figured that they'd have their channel lineup up to date so they can sell their service better to customers. that's mostly what threw me off. thanks.

    different satellites, different channels, d*/e*...confused

yeah, i read that one a little bit ago...and that's what sparked a lot of my confusion...there are many more channels there than what it shows on dish's web site for their channel lineup...is their list on their site not up to date, or does the list that you posted the link to depend on your...

    different satellites, different channels, d*/e*...confused

 this is probably a dumb question...but i'm completely new to the whole dish system (other than helping my brother install one years back [and doing a poor job at that]), so bear with me. i've seen talk and have read the charts about different channels being carried on different...

40" HDTV deal good or bad?

i'm assuming you're referring to the hd reciever from dish? are they still having trouble with them? is the tv itself bad? has anyone dealt with one or known someone who has?

40" HDTV deal good or bad?

 If I've done my research correctly, the 40" HDTV that Dish is offering for $999 is the same as the D40W20 RCA tv, just with Dish's name on it and a little different remote. I've read mixed reviews about whether or not it is a good tv since RCA isn't known as the most reliable...
