It depends on your soil. Here I had a 10' mesh dish with a 24" deep by 6" diameter hole and 1 bag of quickkrete red. That one lasted 4 years two near by tornadoes and 3 tropical storms and was taken down when I moved. The second one had a similar hole with an 8' mesh and it has survived...
I started with 9.5306 and upgraded to 9.5402 on a Premium HD+ with all services enabled. It didn't work before or after the upgarade. I had also changed the root password from the default and made sure I was using the same in both places. Using Putty it works, the remote control it does not...
I was reading this thread (not logged in at the time) http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/291378-azbox-remote-control-by-mortimer-login-trouble and I kept hearing the first 5 seconds or so a of a Dove commercial over and over and over and over and over until I muted my speakers. I looked at of...
I am tying to use the AZBox remote control by mortimer software to control my AZBox. The problem is that if I enter my root/password combination into the Remote Software I get:
Connecting to 10.10.10.5:23...
AZBox login: root
Password:
Login failed...
However if I use putty to Telnet or...
An EF4 tornado passed with in a mile of the 8.5 dish last week. The power is out so I can't say if the dish is still tracking correctly or not though it looks like the mount may have twisted slightly by looking at my alignment marks. I did check the pole and found it was still plumb so all I...
Wow I must be lucky. I am in South East TN/North Georgia and I've had 2 10' BUDs and an 8.5' Bud at different locations over the last few years in my area. At all three I've dug a hole about 6" by as deep as I could still get the post hole diggers to open. (maybe 18-24" deep) Then I plumbed...
I am going to say no. I tried to get the S2 stuff on 103W with a 36" dish and an AZ box and had a real hard time keeping it locked. I moved a 40" dish over to 103W and was able to keep a lock.
DSNG stuff.. Reporters doing live remotes, feeds from local stations back to FOX and CNN. Stuff where they send reporters out into the field to cover natural disasters and big events.
Does anyone know where I can find some active DSNG forums, email lists, yahoo groups, etc? I've looked around the web and can't find anything that's active. I've got a few fixed dishes and I'm trying to decide on where to point them.
I went out and messed with the dish for about 30 minutes tonight until the rain started. I was about a degree off. Maybe I will get some time tomorrow to finish tweaking the dish.
Where did you get the 35.52 degrees, declination to 5.03? That's where I am getting confused. How do you take the latitude of 34.9 and get to 35.53? How do you calculate the declination to end up with 5 degrees?
I figured it out. I had "(at symbol) 85 degrees" in my post. Silly me. I've worked for an ISP for almost 10 years and I didn't know that the at symbol was part of a url :)
Let's try this again for the 10th time.
I am at 34.9 - 85.1. My true south Satellite is AMC2 at 85 degrees. I went to a site to calculate the elevation which turns out to be 49.48 degrees. This is where I get a little confused or maybe not. Would I set the elevation (the bar that the dish...
UGH!
I am trying to make a post but the site keeps telling me I can't post a URL until I have made 15 posts. The problem is that there is no form of a URL in the message. So this is kind of a how do you get around that with out making 15 replies / test message.
I am looking for some suggestions on which birds to use. I mostly like watching DSNG feeds. I've been out of this for a while and now I am starting to get time to mess around with my dishes again.
I am using 2 Channel Master dishes (white version of the P*) and a 8foot C/Ku dish. The...
