The antenna will remain in the attic as the neighborhood HOA forbids an antenna being installed outdoors.....sad but true. I feel like..I pay them to tell me what to do.....Don't ever buy a house that is under the thumb of a HOA. It sucks! I have very good signal strength on this channel...

Is there any REAL difference in using a regular ol' F connector coupler (barrel) and one that is HD compatible when connecting two cables that will pass off-air signals? The cable hasn't changed since digital transmission, so why would one need a "special" barrel?

Sounds like that station broadcasts the RTV (Retro-active TV) network. Get that here in upper SC on one of the TV station's '2nd channel' (7.2). Don't have a clue where it might be on satellite...????
