    Crimp-on Connectors

Boba, You were right on. I checked my connections on the two satellite feeds by removing them from the DVR, one at a time. The first one I took off was the one causing the problem. I replaced it properly and now everything works. Thanks.

    Crimp-on Connectors

Yes...2 coaxial cables come from the dish. I think I will go check those connections, though. I'm new at crimping those connectors onto coax, so there might be a problem with one of them.

    Crimp-on Connectors

When you used crimp-on connectors, and even a single wire from the shield bundle is left touching the core wire, then all the signal to that coax is grounded out, right? I'm trying to find a problem with my dual control model 522 after moving the unit and shortening two of the coax lines and...

    Model 522 searching for satellite

I moved my receiver recently, and I had to splice a length of coax onto the channel 21-49 out cable to reach TV#2. When I finished the move, #2 TV worked fine when it was on by itself, and #1 worked well by itself. But when they were on at the same time, one of them showed a satellite search...

Signal goes to only one TV

Could this problem be caused by faulty connectors? How can I be sure I'm buying coax and connectors that are reliable? Butch

Signal goes to only one TV

Thanks for the info. My setup has two cables coming from the dish to the receiver. The move shortened the two cables enough that I used one cutting to splice the single cable to TV#2.

Signal goes to only one TV

I moved my TV and DVR receiver to a different wall yesterday, but I was careful to label each coax connection and replace them carefully. Upon completing the move, I tried the #2 TV, and it worked fine. Then I tried #1, and it also worked perfectly. But today I tried to record a program on...

    DVD player connection

The manual says to connect the coax from the DVR to the DVD player, then the signal goes out to the remote TV. The first step in the book says to always leave the VCR powered on so the TV can receive satellite programming. On the near TV that isn't necessary, though. Is there a way to...

    DVD player connection

I want to connect a DVD player to the #2 TV on my Dishnetwork DVR. The instruction booklet seems to indicate that, to obtain the desired channel on the satellite, I would have to turn on the DVD player every time I turn on the TV. Is there any way to wire this thing like my #1 TV so that I can...
