Hi Folks, Just wondering what happed to DVRs that have a hard drive and DVD burner. Did the Hollywood bigwigs whack this piece of equipment??? My bro has one....he's able to record a whole season of shows then burn them to disks afterwards.

So if Shaw gets out of the Sattelite biz, how long until that happens? 1,2,3,4 years? Will that mean my current 505 system will become useless or will it get transferred to FreeHD??? Will Shaw simply sell my account to FreeHD???

I had and old 301 system (9 years) and it was just wear-n-tear that did it in (I now have a HD505 system). LNB was getting old and was effecting my signal reception.

Yeah, one of the "crazy curling fans" here in the states (not even a Canuck). Got a SC dish years ago and will be upgrading to HD soon. :)

Has anyone heard much about a broker service in the Vancouver area called Can-Am (smalldish.com)? I've heard good things about KUSAT, but what about smalldish? Just curious.

SUCCESS!!!!! I found out the what the problem was. When I got my new HDTV and DVR/DVD combo a few months ago, I accidentally changed the wiring just a slight bit. I'm now running co-axel from receiver to the DVR, then RCA's out to the HDTV. PRESTO!!!! Almost 100% reduction in wink-outs...

How do I get the "db" reading on Star Choice? My signal strength is 99......my signal strength is 69.

Funny thing is this.....I watch NASCAR or Poker on TSN, no problem whatsoever....when it goes live for curling, the problems start.
