    6' dish for 125W

The issue is I don't have a c-band dish yet. I can source a 6' locally but 8' or larger is going to have to be ordered online (crazy shipping fees). If I can make do with a 6' I'd rather save the $400ish and go that route :)

    6' dish for 125W

Hey All, Wondering what you guys think about using a 6' dish for 125W. I'm specifically interested in NWCN on 3900. According to the footprint I should have no trouble with a 180cm dish, however I have read a lot about adjacent satellite interference being an issue with these smaller dishes...

Weak signal with PBS on MicroHD

Thanks for all the replies guys, at least I'm not alone with these issues. I will try re-peaking the dish, although it should be pretty close to optimized since I'm using Diseqc 1.2 and setting manual positions for each satellite. Failing that I guess I'll just hold onto the AzBox and use that...

Weak signal with PBS on MicroHD

Hi Raine, Thanks for the quality reference, at least I know the readings are not completely out to lunch. No model number for the LNB unfortunately since it's just a generic model. It is a linear LNB (at least that's how I've been setting it up and it seems to work fine). I have the same...

Weak signal with PBS on MicroHD

Yup, 10750 other satellites work fine with the same LO frequency (including the DVB-S2 transponders for NBC on 103W which are usually the weakest and most difficult to pull in).

Weak signal with PBS on MicroHD

Hi all, Still messing around with my MicroHD and finally got it tracking satellites correctly with the motorized dish and just having a few issues with PBS on 125W. When I lock in on 125W I receive a really low signal on TP 12180 - the quality reading seems to jump all over the place with a...

MicroHD Reboot loop when using motor

Thanks for the reply, I managed to figure out that you need to have all satellites selected in the "Satellite List" menu before the dish will move. I (incorrectly) assumed the selection in the "Satellite List" was only for setup and I was manually de-selecting them after scanning in the channels.

MicroHD Reboot loop when using motor

Hi Guys, I'm having one heck of a time trying to get my MicroHD working with a Diseqc 1.2 motor. After bricking it a few weeks ago I finally re-flashed the udf file and restored the receiver to a working state using a USB-to-TTL cable, however, whenever I try and setup multiple satellites...

    MicroHD stopped working

Thanks for the replies. Definitely seems to be stuck in a reboot loop (just noticed that the LED will turn red, then solid green for a while and then back to red). I guess I'll order one of the TTL cables to de-brick. Seems like the firmware is kinda flaky if it's this easy to corrupt the...

    MicroHD stopped working

I was trying to setup my MicroHD to work with Diseqc 1.2 this morning and after I saved my second satellite position the receiver locked up. I unplugged the unit for about 30 seconds and now when it powers on I see a flash of the main screen for about 2 seconds then the TV reports "no signal."...

    GeoSat PRO MicroHD DVB-S2

I'm running the software it came with out of the box. The information page says TDV10290-1-0-2-0 and the date looks like 2012-05-25. I will update the firmware and keep my fingers crossed

    GeoSat PRO MicroHD DVB-S2

Hi Guys, I recently purchased the GeoSAT MicroHD and was just getting around to setting it up. I'm trying to scan in the Reuters news service on 113W but can't figure out how to add a DVB-S2 transponder. I've already tried a blind scan and the receiver didn't find the transponder. When I use...

    Coolsat 8000HD MPEG4?

Thanks Guys, The channel is acting very strangely. After I posted they aired a feed and the signal was consistent throughout and then stopped blinking on and off even after they went back to the slate. Today after rebooting my receiver it's back to blinking on and off again. The channel does...

    Coolsat 8000HD MPEG4?

Any way you can check to see if they work with the Reuters Live service? The Coolsat must work with MPEG4 because I can watch the PBS channels on 125W (just checked) wondering if there's something up with the channel.

    Coolsat 8000HD MPEG4?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this; Just wondering if the Coolsat 8000HD actually does MPEG4 on the satellite channels? All the documentation I've read says it's MPEG4 on ATSC only. The reason I ask is because I'm trying to watch Reuters Live service on 113W and it will display a...

    Getting Dish Network in Canada

I live in Canada and know people that have done this. Order a Dish Network FlexTV system from a reputable retailer and have it shipped to a US address (you can also use one of the many US address brokers if needed). The retailer should get an account setup with Dish Network for you. Once you...

    Galaxy 19 (97W) Ku-band channel guide -- Dec. 9 update

I know PressTV was recently re-added to Hotbird 13 over Europe under the 'News TV' branding so hopefully it'll be back to stay over here as well!

Problems with Diseqc and WinTV Nova

Thanks for the suggestion iron, I gave it a go without success. After reading a lot about this issue on various WinTV forums it seems to be a fairly common issue, at least I'm not alone on this one. Darn PC tuner cards are definitely not ready for prime time though.

Problems with DP301 and Legacy LNBs

The reciever is one I purchased locally from Craigslist, The dish is one I've had in storage for a few years now. Sounds like I made a bad call purchasing the receiver and have definitely learned my lesson about doing research in the future. Thanks for all the responses guys and I'll stop...

Problems with DP301 and Legacy LNBs

Thanks for the replies; I have two dual legacy LNBs, I do have an SW21. I have tried running the check switch with and without the SW21 connected. The receiver does detect the SW21 when it is connected, however doesn't find any active satellites. I will try leaving the receiver turned off but...

Problems with Diseqc and WinTV Nova

Thanks for the suggestion wally, but I need something that will stream TV over my network/the Internet as I watch the programming on several different computers throughout the house that don't have satellite tuners installed. Still no luck on getting Diseqc switching running, I've now opted to...

Problems with DP301 and Legacy LNBs

Having some problems setting up a DP301 receiver with a legacy dish. I'm currently trying to setup a basic Dish network system (dish500, legacy twin LNBs, DP301 receiver) to use with the basic Dish network welcome channel package and am having a few problems setting up the dish. I am using an...

Problems with Diseqc and WinTV Nova

No joy unfortunately, still the same issue of just one satellite at a time. I have made one observation though; it seems to get stuck on the first active port on the Diseqc switch i.e. if I have ports 2 and 3 occupied it receives the signal on port 2, but if I have ports 1 and 2 occupied then...
