Failures on 103(s) but 103(ca) and 103(cb) are fine

Ok. I'm in zip code 30533. I'll have a look at the alignment this week and let yunz know. It has been out there for a year plus and I'm sure I've bumped it a few times with the mower. I've not gone through the full channel list. I only tried SyFy, but I didn't notice anything close to that...

Failures on 103(s) but 103(ca) and 103(cb) are fine

    We don't watch TV a lot here so I don't know when this failure cropped up. Anyway, I was going to watch SyFy this morning but it was not coming in. So, I ran the alignment test and came up with this. --- 99(s) 1-8 63 0 0 0 58 0 79 0 9-16 x x x x x x 0 76 17-24 0 0 69 75 24 0 0 0 99(ca)...

PBS mux on 125W moving around...preparing for changes

Well this satellite is the only one I can see from my home (trees & such). Will one of the cheap-@$$ Openbox or Skybox units work ok for getting PBS in DVB-S2?

    PBS HD East (no sound)

Thanks for the notes BJ. I was referring to the PBS HD East channel on 12140. I did what you mentioned just now (deleted everything on 12140 and re-scanned). Now the sound is there on all three channels. That was an odd one to say the least.

    PBS HD East (no sound)

As of yesterday, I am receiving no sound on this channel. Anyone else having this issue? All other channels on this bird are fine. Using a Viewsat 9000HD. I have re-scanned the channels, but haven't gone beyond that.

    KU on a 1.2m dish....WOW!!!!

In the southern US, we use duct tape, pronounced duck tape, for such things. :)

    "Broken FTA Receivers"

I think I read it on multichannel.com or some other news site. Use Google.

    "Broken FTA Receivers"

You need to be careful. Some of the FTA vendors have judgments against that that require them to turn over the firmware and name of the owner in the case they get a unit in for repair that has "unauthorized" firmware. It wouldn't hold up in court, since you can prove you were not the original...

Enter to win: Sadoun Heavy Duty DG380 HH Motor ($120 value)

I first got into FTA when I saw a setup at an amateur radio "hamfest" about five years ago. This site helped me to figure out a lot of the tuning I needed to do to get my motor working correctly when I added one, and Sadoun is where I purchase most of my stuff. I always like to show off what...

    The dreaded $

Welp, Two of my favorite music feeds went $ somtime yesterday or day before. I liked Soundscapes and Singers & Standards on IA-5, but they are gone. The were making funny noises, so I deleted my channels and re-scanned and they came back $.... (deep sigh)

How many FTA dishes have you seen in your area?

Find out who owns the place and ask them. I'm 99% positive they'll give that "junk" to you. I did that with an old DirectTV/Dish Network installer office. I snagged about ten dishes and LNBs at one stop with that phone call. All I had to do there was send an e-mail wavier in case I fell off the...

I Want To Watch Intelsat 805

You need a C-Band dish (8 footer or more) and a C-Band LNB. Then, you'll be good to go, provided you can actually "see" that bird. It is located at 55W.

Preparing FTA order - do I have everything?

Good man, there's no such thing as too many extra parts! I am active mostly on 220MHz and in the winter on 160 meters. Once in a while, I listen in on 3955kHz after midnight. 73, Phil

Preparing FTA order - do I have everything?

I would order some terminations in case you want to add a DiSEqC switch and other LNBs later. You'll want to terminate any unused ports on the switch when/if you add one and they are cheap. Item #4 -> http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Switches/DiSEqC-Switches.htm

    updating softward for pansat 3500s

If you mean that you blind scan a satellite and your transponder frequency doesn't match Lyngsat, then don't worry about it. What is happening is the local oscillator frequency in your LNB is just a tad off of 10750MHz, or 11600MHz (whatever you are using) and it shows up in the scan. If...

Guess which receiver my cable system is using

Yes it is. I have two of those. I think I picked em up for like $15 each on eBay. You can't beat it for a G10R-only setup.
