Satellite 119 is locking on 110

SimpleSimon isn't doing any better. Perhaps you should hire a professional to do the work. After all, why are we even telling you how to do it?

Satellite 119 is locking on 110

your dish is pointed 9-degree too far east. The receiver will always say there is signal even if it says wrong sat. That's because you are pointed at a satellite, it just ain't 119. Bring your dish back to the west 9 degrees. The best trick in the world is to peak in both 119 and 110 at the...

    AC-Max stuttering problem?

what receiver is it? some early dishpro receivers were notorious for that. It went away when they changed to the 3-prong plug oddly enough. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch with Cinemax.

Acquiring Satallite Signal every 5 min or so?!?!

Have the tech move 121 from port 2 to port 4 as a precaution. it says recommended for FSS (which is 121) right on the damn switch @ port 4.

Acquiring Satallite Signal every 5 min or so?!?!

if both receivers are getting nothing then it would be the switch. the 4th port coming from the dish is recommended for the 121 slot. curious if the installer put 119 on it. your check switch matrix in your check switch screen should read any combination for 119, 110 and 61.5 utilizing ports...

Acquiring Satallite Signal every 5 min or so?!?!

Probably a low-frequency barrel that was used in the line not rated for DPP. I assume you have a DPP44 switch since you have 4 orbital slots. There are too many times when inadequate parts are used during installs. I am only guessing since it happens a lot. Or something amiss with the power...

DishNet on a high rise building?

Ooooh, lovely Miami, I'll be there on Friday!!!!!!!!!! yippeeeee! Many people in high rise buildings have Dish/Direct. Do you know if the last resident had Dish/Direct. If so then it would be easy to tap into the line. I am guessing there is more than one dish up on top. There usually is. If...

If you had a choice:Satellite or Cable

I'm not talking about the individual technologies of DTH and Cable. I only mean they are along the same lines as far as the signal aquisition method. Networks send signal to satellite - cable companies receive from satellite. networks send signal to satellite - satellite companies receive from...

    Singal strength

bweiteka, so you are confirming the brick peaks in DPP precisely as if using any other LNB?

    Singal strength

Lately, the major problem for many of the company's field techs is they use the sat buddy's to align the dish and dp+ doesn't read correctly with the sat buddy. I haven't checked the brick (channel master) or any other meter, but the sat buddy is widely used and you have to peak with a regular...

Any advise for a new installer?

The most important part of installing is obviously the dish. Make sure you can peak both 119 and 110. 522s/322s have lower signal than the other receivers so it is crucial you get max signal out of them because signal decides if we keep a customer. Mount the dish in a reasonable location, not on...

How stable is the 522? Compared to 501/921, etc.

I swap out more 522s than 510s on trouble/service calls. I tell customers that swapping out the box does no good cause the new one will do the same thing, but i do it anyway to appease them. I've swapped out one customers box at least 5-6 times. His 510s are so far flawless, and one of them is...

    More competition coming....

it's long term cheaper for cable to deliver HD rather than analog, as opposed to Dish, where the sat bandwidth is actually more expensive because they're not eliminating analog to start with. Then why does cable use satellites? BTW, your attachment doesn't work.

    EchoStar Questions DIRECTV Local HD

EchoStar barks again... I swear Charlie wishes he was DirecTV. DISH should help make Local HD happen, not criticize it. Now I know what their business plan is. ...."The more HD there is, the more we don't have a business plan." And they will be gone!

    2 Receivers-Different Signal Srength

The 811 does register lower signal. Be glad it's only 10points. The 522/322s register almost 20 points lower than the other 5xx and 3xx series receivers. With my dish peaked to maximum, a 501/301 will register about 118 on SAT 119 transponders 11-12. SAT 110 comes in around 110 on...
