Installation possibilities at site with some cabling installation challenges

The solution I am a Dish technician, and this is what I would do. Assuming that I could get line of sight for a dish, I would run dual cable from the dish to the house and install a ground block where the two cables go inside (he said he has 2 cables going into the house, one was going to be...

QUESTION - What Bugs or Usability Issues do you have with your Hopper?

    1. Inactivity standby selection does not change the default 2 hours of standby before the Hopper/Joey goes into standby. Menu > Settings > Diagnostics > Updates. I changed it to 4 hours so that I could watch a full 2 hour 30 minute movie without touching my control, but it still will go into...

    how will dlna work

I am unsure about what codecs it supports, but if you have a DLNA server on a computer (such as Tversity or Serviio) they can transcode the media to a format that will play on the Hopper/Joey.

    how will dlna work

You can enjoy videos, music, and pictures from your DLNA server on any Hopper or Joey independently from the others. To get to this you have to go to Menu and select Home Media. Then your server name will show up here. Once you select it, you will see all of your folders or media that you...

Need TV tuner card or something to use my computer to watch Dish thru the VIP222k

What do you mean you need a blank TV station to program the 222K? Are you trying to get TV1 or TV2 on your computer, and what type of connection are you using (component, composite, coax, HDMI)? What tuner cards have you tried?

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

May be due to something else, but here is my anecdotal evidence. I have 2 Hoppers and 2 Joeys. The 2 Hoppers are connected to my home network directly through ethernet and have access to apps, Blockbuster@Home, and I can access them through Dish Online. But none of the 4 would see my TVersity...

Is Your Home Media Working on Hopper/Joey?

I have both of my Hoppers connected to ethernet for the past 4 days and they would not see my TVersity server. Then based on this thread http://www.satelliteguys.us/hopper-zone/280049-my-quest-get-dlna-working-hopper-6.html I connected a HIC and suddenly my TVersity server showed up on both...

Is Your Home Media Working on Hopper/Joey?

Please answer so we can get a definite answer whether the HIC (Hopper Internet Connector) is needed to stream using the Home Media app.

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Joeys now show connected to internet (where as before with ethernet on both hoppers they were connected, but not showing as connected). And....they show my TVersity server!!!! So to all the people who can't get DLNA working, you need a HIC...

My quest to get DLNA working on the Hopper...

I haven't been able to get my two hoppers to see my DLNA server either, and I don't have a HIC installed because I have direct ethernet connections. However, I have access to a HIC. I will try it out and see if DLNA works (I doubt it will). Will post an update either way.

    Hopper / Joey question

With an RF modulator that outputs to channel 3 or 4, there should be no problems sending that through the MoCA lines because the frequencies for those two channels (60 - 72 MHz) are lower than the MoCA frequencies that Dish uses (650 - 875 MHz). There will be no interference.

    1000.4 with wing dish

To cover an orbital I always use a pop can. I cut the aluminum can in half with a knife and throw away the pop-top end. I slip the sealed end over the LNB and bend the edges over to keep it in place.
