yep that 200 dollars was on top of the one months of service . all dish network does is screw the customers!!

well after speaking with julioo at dish customer service after they called me today. there not gonna lift the 200 dollar fee for activation and there gonna force me to take a flax pay account and not a regular activations account just because i choose not to be bound into a contract. now thats a...

i don't know what there problem with doing an install on a 4th floor is the sales rep said they won't install from the 3rd floor up. and the sales reps told me everything from insurance reasons to eletical codes.

i am returning the equitment and going with directv instead. i can't sighn up with dish directly because i live on the 4th floor and the sales rep said they won't do an install that high up. how true that is i do not know.

i sent him a pm. his offer still stands to help me but after a day of dealing with all this stuff i'll be sending the equitment back and i'll be going to directv. i told them i did not want a flex account and that i wanted an activations account when i sighned up also.

yes my parents did sparc they paid 449 for the hopper and 99 dollars for the joey. and the installer was recomended from dish themselves

no the installer didn't contact dish. would you pay 200 dollars to have your receivers turned on??

brand new account. and the 200 dollar turn on fee was just for them to send a signal and gather all my info.

it's a brand new account as i never had dish before. nice way to treat a brand new custome though lol.

the installer my parents got it from paid for the hopper and joey upfront at full retail price the installer gave me a free installation on the system. and the installer told me to call em and tell them i have the equitment already and i just want to activate it and to do an activation account...

so i called dish yesturday and explained that i got a hopper for a birthday gift. so i'm on the phe phone with the rep and he told me theres a $200 dollar turn on fee :eek: plus the first month of programming. i can see paying the fisrt month of programming up front but not 200 dollars for them...

does anyone know if the hopper makes suggestions to what it thinks you might like to record?? and if i disable the prime time recording feature will it free up the other terribyte of the hard drive so i can record more content vs having to buy a external hard drive??
