    Dish /T-Mobile

I’ll believe it when I see it. I live in a fairly major metro area (Pittsburgh area) and I tried t-mobile for a few months. There were dead spots where AT&T’s network works great for me. Looking at cellmapper Sprint doesn’t service those areas either and is even worse. There also was more...

    Channel 540, 4k

I’m able to use 540 on the Hopper 3 even on a non-4K regular HD TV! It is so clear compared to anything else off of the Dish. If they could make all channels this clear I’d stay with Dish...

    new credit policy?

I was offered and took this about a year ago. I called to cancel and they talked me into a one year contract with 40/month discounts for that year to stay. Next month it’s up. We’ll see what they offer, but I’m even readier for streaming than a year ago...

Remove pairing to aux audio device from remote?

Thanks think that did the trick. I still find it odd that you can’t just unpair it. Sounds like the remote is set to the AUX device by default for Volume and Mute. You go into remote settings, then scroll down and you'll see that setting for control Aux Volume and Mute. Click on it and it'll...

Remove pairing to aux audio device from remote?

I have a new TV and anything other than the TV controlling it causes a conflict now that I have audio via HDMI port (CEC) [ QUOTE="HipKat, post: 4442545, member: 201092"] Why do you want to unpair it?

Remove pairing to aux audio device from remote?

Does anyone know how to do this? You can run the wizard again or manually pair a different aux device to the remote but I don’t see how to clear the aux pairing entirely? What an I missing? Joey 3, connected to Hopper 3. 54.0 remote.

What I’d like to see for hopper 4

Yeah that’s why in my initial post I said “license.” I’d be more than willing to pay a license fee for each TV just to be able to use that one interface for all of my video content. I’m close to going streaming anyway. Streaming video PQ is so much better. It stinks no 5.1 audio though.

What I’d like to see for hopper 4

I wish they’d release a server type box connected to the sat, and then you license how many TVs you want to connect to it. Would be nice if clients could be Roku, Apple TV, etc. that way all video content on your TV can use one box...

    4K TV and Joey3

thanks. It was at 1080p. Guess streaming PQ is spoiling me ;(

    4K TV and Joey3

I just got a 4K TV and Dish channels on a Joey 3 look subpar. Streamed content on my Roku Ultra looks awesome. Would getting a Joey 4K or finding a way to connect the H3 to this TV help, even though all of the live TV isn’t 4K content?

Is Dish still HD Lite in 2019?

I’ve had both services and DirecTV has the better PQ (neither as good as FiOS or YouTube TV) For a while late last year until the middle of this year Dish had improved PQ, close to DTV but something happened a few months ago and it degraded.

    Cox locals

When will we lose our Cox locals? The warning placeholder is already there. (Mine is WPXI NBC Pittsburgh)

Until something changes, I guess I'm sticking with DISH

I would have went with YTTV/Philo if they had our RSN. Yes the Hopper is a bit more convenient but this combo had more content for a bit less money with much better picture quality (even better than DTV and Fios) (My wife is also happier with the Hopper) Sad thing is I’ve committed to Dish...

The Joey 3 is a real speed demon.

I was out of contract for a few months and when I called to cancel they gave me a good deal to stay on for 12 months and I said I’d take it if they threw two Joey 3s and new remotes in. They are a lot nicer. Just wish they could do YouTube like the H3.

    RSNs on Dish

Yeah if they drop my RSN (AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh) I’m out for sure. That and NFL Network/RedZone are what keep me with Dish despite the better experience YouTube TV provides...

"DISH Gives You A Choice" flyer

I got this too and was wondering: 1) do they tack time to your commitment for performing a labor intensive task at “no charge?” 2) do they include the dual tuner dongle or are you stuck with just one tuner for your locals?

After 24 hours with DirecTV now...

I thought they were releasing a true DTV experience, all the channels, etc, over IP, separate from DTV Now.

After 24 hours with DirecTV now...

I look forward to the possibility of DTV delivered over IP. The real DTV, not DTV Now. A real DVR with all of the real channels you can get from the bird...

    Best HD picture

I’ve had both and give DirecTV a slight PQ edge. The Hopper is a much better DVR and DishAnywhere a much better mobile app though. This no HBO is starting to get to me though. I may change when I contract is up to play the price game. May try my local cable company I got Dish when I moved over...

Had to sweep off my dish

Interestingly Dish seems more succeptable to snow and ice on the dish than DirecTV. I had no issues with DirecTV for two years. After Moving to Dish I lost service after the most minor snow or icing. Had to have a Dish heater installed (with no issues since)

    RSN Channel Numbers

I have a Hopper 3. Didn’t have service before the Hopper 3. Wonder why they’d do it differently within different platforms.

    RSN Channel Numbers

why does dish use the 412-xx for all RSNs?!? It’s annoying because you need to enter five digits to get to one of those instead of three. Between 1-999 they should be able to give the RSNs their own three digits.

    Opinions/Advice re: Switching

This is why after two years with DTV and now two years with Dish I’m considering giving the local cable company a shot. I have Internet through them and their customer service is local and a good experience comparatively. They lack a few HD channels and I’m not a fan of the TiVo interface they...

    Fire Stick DishAnywhere App

As someone who has had issues I wanted to report that I’ve found a fix. It appears the app just needs more horsepower than a gen one fire stick. Get a gen two with the four core processor and it works great!

I almost switched back to Dish today, but sticking with DirecTV.

Interestingly sports is one of the reasons I went from DTV to Dish. I live in my local NFL market and just want the Red Zone channel, but there's no way to get that on DTV without the expensive Sunday Ticket Max add on. It was nice to have it free my first year but I didn't want to pay that...
