First, press power buttom 5 seconds, you will see orange light blinks, it should soft reset the receiver.
2nd, if it does not work, unplug every cable, press power buttom for one minute, and let it sit for 24 hours, this should discharge completely.
Pay a little more get it from someone truthworthy (from here)? Or, get a cheaper one from ebay, sometimes seller does not have any idea? It is $10 - $20 different, choice and choice.
A buyer better asks percise questions, no matter how common sense or law are suppose to be. If a seller lies to you regarding a percise question, then, there is no grey area. But, practically, Voom is not in business any more, activated or non-activated mean nothing - how do you gonna to prove a...
I don't know where you reside. I also have same problem with one of local PBSs. After contacted the station, they suspected the header of the signal stream may be the problem; they are in process of moving from channel 27 to 25, they don't expect to solve this particular problem (only to Voom...

Look at this definition from AVS HDTV Moderator Ken H, (I'd like to believe a Mod has better idea about it.)
"As long as you can get past the initial activation screen, into the main Voom page, it's been activated."
Debating words does not help. Bottom line is, if you want to buy a Voom for...
It is not true. De-subbed Voom box still and will scan all local channels; it even let you "save" or "hide" those channels. But, when you press "watch", you can NOT watch it. A new Voom receiver will have "receiver not authorized", once you subscribe, it is "activated"; at this point, the...
No, it is incorrect. A non-activated Voom box will show "unauthorized" when power on the receiver, and go no further. Once subscribed, it becomes "activated", you can go into menu adjustment. When subscription ended, Voom sends a signal to stop the receiver, the receiver becomes "idle", you'll...
