Advice please; Coolsat 6000 vs Pansat 3500SD

Hello All, It's been a while since I've posted, (mainly because everything was working great). My Pansat 3500S died the other day and I believe it's the power supply. When I turn it on the display comes on for a second and then slowly fades out. So I'm guessing it's time for a new one...

    Signal loss through Diseqc switch?

Yes, but it took this thread for me to realize it.

    Signal loss through Diseqc switch?

Just to throw in my 2 cents here. I've been having some problems over the past week or so with signal loss. First I'd have it, Then nothing. Sometimes it would just drop out in the middle of whatever I was trying to watch. When I got home tonight, (From a long day of playing golf :)), I saw...

    Hack Talk

To be a bit more specific here... Most of these people are leechers. A Hacker is someone who hacks their way into someone else's system. This requires skill. A cracker is a person that cracks codes. Also requires skill. A leech is someone who depends on the skills of others for their own...

    Wiring / Grounding question

Shawn, I would use a separate grounding rod near the dish. (~$10.00 at Home Depot) Run your ribbon cable to the receiver as normal. On the dish side, cut the coax near the new rod and install a ground block (or two). When you cut the coax, make sure you leave the rest of the ribbon long...

    Friday Fun Poll!!!

Finding new channels is by far better. It's like the toy in the cereal box, you know it's there, It's just a matter of how far you have to dig. :)

    Mesh vs Solid Dish

The Patriot is expensive compaired to the Fortec 240cm (Sadoun ~$250), that I had in mind and the Sami is ~$600. The main drawback to the Fortec is that there is no Polar mount available, (unless someone knows of a polar mount that will fit the Fortec?). I don't know that I am interested in...

    Mesh vs Solid Dish

Hello All, So I've been playing around with my 120cm Fortec Star dish and a c-band lnb with mixed results. I'm now thinking of a bigger dish somewhere in the 6 to 8 foot range. Can someone make a reccomendation as to what is a better dish to get, Mesh or Solid? and Why? PS, This is for...

    Friday Fun Poll!

I would love to have some HD stuff. I say this mainly because I'm still a little new to all of this and don't know the difference between 4:2:0 and 4:2:2. I'll have to look that up sometime. :)

    Motor Question

I'll try the 80cm on the Stab 120 with USALS and see if there's a difference this weekend. I've been concerned that the weight of the 120cm may be throwing things off a bit. The motor seems a bit strained when it has to move that far. Besides, I've been looking for an excuse to slap on the...

    Motor Question

Larry, According to the calculator, I need 55.7 degrees. According to the manual, I have 55.0 degrees. I'm just shy by .7 degrees. I may have to swap the dishes and Put an SG motor on my 80cm and fix mount the 120cm for some NASA C-Band on AMC6. Thanks All,

    Motor Question

Thanks Ice, I've been telling my wife that we should move to OK. This may be just the thing to convince her. :haha Wouldn't it be nice if we could have 2 motorized dishes on 1 receiver. OK, So how about this. I have a Pansat 3500s, What if I lie to the receiver and change my longitude...
