    HR 10-250 - a couple of questions...

I just saw this, which was posted elsewhere by Brewer4: Call retention department at D* and just mentioning thinking of leaving D* for cable and ask for the $299 HD Tivo deal with $100 rebate. Also ask for programming credits like HBO, Showtime and HD Package. 1-800-600-8977 That sounds...

    HR 10-250 - a couple of questions...

    1. Can't help on the PIP question. My TV has it but I've never used it. 2. Resolution switching can be done with the remote control by pressing the up arrow. This toggles the resolution according to what you specify at setup time. 3. I think they will bill you the $5 for an additional...

Q re HR10-250 Tivo menu vs. DirecTV menu

Given the choice of an H10 for $300 or the HR10-250 for $500, if this will be your primary receiver--get the Tivo. I have both of these receivers and the features on the HR10-250 make it well worth $500 in my opinion. I thought it was well worth the $900 I paid for it in April. The guide on...

Question about poor reception on only 1 channel

If that's the only channel where that happens then it is related to your local Fox station and not D*. The locals fiddle around with broadcast power and other engineering aspects quite a bit. Here in Denver, the local WB channel is like that. Sometimes there is no reception at all, and most...

    Problem with HR10-250

Squicken--no doubt about it, you have the failed HDMI output problem. Exactly the same thing happened on my first Tivo too. Mine was still under warranty, so it was replaced at no cost and the new one is fine. It was weird--the Tivo was working fine, and then one day--garbage, just like you...

Will you now get NFL-ST at $49 for the HD games?

Nope. People who have not had Sunday Ticket before still get the $99 charge since the $49 one is for ST renewals. So something that was free last season now costs new customers $99, and renewing customers pay $49, and that is on top of the charge for the package itself. OTA is the way to go...

    Here is how I plan to retaliate for the NFL ST HD Tax {RANT!}

I'm in. If it's a real flag, maybe we should blow our noses in it before sending it back.

Incentives for subbing a HD Tivo??

When your equipment arrives, look for a coupon in the Tivo box for a $50 rebate. I don't know if that offer is still being made, but I got one with my Tivo that I ordered at the end of April. I filled it out and sent it in and got the $50 within 2 weeks.

    HR10-250 problems (HDMI, A/V synch)

Your HDMI failure is a well-documented flaw on units that were manufactured prior to 11/15/2004. If you look on the back of the unit by the fan, the manufacturing date is listed at the bottom of the text portion of unit information. The exact same thing just happened on my Tivo too...

Problem with no VOOM Bill for Direct TV Rebate

Voom is supposedly sending a final bill shortly. If you call Voom customer service, you can ask them to send you a copy of a bill from xxx (fill in month) 2005, or if you were on autopay, a copy of one your statements showing the Voom charges will do. I sent a copy of my installation work...

Get out your wallet. ST in HD now $318.00

I voted no. I like pro football, but ST is not worth $318 in my opinion. Local channels usually broadcast the local games in HD, so if they continue that, then I don't need ST. Or I can jump in the car and drive to Loveland and see what's on at Slacker's place. So consider me on strike...

What's the best universal remote control?

Lots of people will recommend one of the Harmony remotes by Logitech. That's what I have been using. It allows you to control all components, and you can program activities like 'watch a movie', 'watch television', 'listen to music' etc. But it is not a touch screen remote. My overall...

My intsall is tomorrow, I have a questions

My advice would be to shave, get a haircut, and always remember to use mouthwash. And it would probably be a good idea to post questions about an EchoVoom installation in either of those two forum rooms. However, as with all satellite installations, they will ask you to sign a document...

    EchoVoOm ... calling D* customers?

Not a merger, Gm2. Dish bought the Rainbow1 satellite and an uplink facility. They also purchased some broadcast rights for the Voom exclusive channels, known as Voom 21. Voom ceased broadcasting as a satellite provider on May 1, and E* picked up 10 of the 21 Voom exclusives, with the promise...

    EchoVoOm ... calling D* customers?

It's been reported that Voom probably sold customer information to 3rd parties, so this third party knew you were once a Voom customer. Either that, or Charles Ergen is mad about guys in Colorado having D* (little joke). With the demise of Voom, I switched to D* and I have to say that I'm...

Newbie looking for help connecting to HD channels

The simple solution is to find a better place to mount the dish. Bottom line is that you have to have line of site to the satellites to be able to get what is being transmitted. Is there any possibility to find a mounting location with better line of sight? If possible, that should be step #1.

DTV installed today, no HDMI to DVI conveter :(

You can get a DVI to HDMI cable at Best Buy, but it is a Monster Cable and it's expensive. However--BB will let you bring it back for a full refund with no questions asked. There are plenty of places to get the same thing online, like at www.bettercables.com . The H10 does not have the...

    Locals on other Providers

I switched to D*, and the box integrates the locals the same as Voom. I get the sub-channels that you mention in your post, and get them integrated into the guide. One difference is that the Voom STB supplied power to the OTA antenna, but the D* box does not. You have to get a stand-alone...

    Is D* using Harmonic Encoders?

Thanks Sean and Slacker. I'll see what they have at BB. If I get the locals squared away I'll be happy. I liked Rave and Monsters, but I'm getting to be a fan of HDNet.

No. No diplexer. I'll try a power supply and see if that does it.

    Is D* using Harmonic Encoders?

Hi Sean, Were you able to set up OTA with D*? I had my installation on Monday. The installer simply attached the existing OTA line to the HD Tivo on the correct post. The local channels added to the guide, but I don't get reception of any local channel. I'm thinking maybe I need to get...
