My fix for the "Why doesn't the Scalar Ring fit the LBNF" Problem!

I used a Super-glue; any sort should do, or use contact cement, which may be best as it remains elastic. Contact cement should work with any type of rubber padding that one chooses. I like the Tire patch sheets because it's nicely prepped for a long-lasting bond. The other side is perfect for...

My fix for the "Why doesn't the Scalar Ring fit the LBNF" Problem!

I have used small portions of a rubber tire patch by cutting two square pads that will fit the scalar ring pads which are the two points of contact. I sanded the areas to be glued and placed the two rubber pads on the scalar ring and it works great for securing the LNB in position without it...

    DISEqC 1.1 & 1.2 functions compared?

The latest one dated July 19, 2013, it's the same as the STB came with when I bought it recently.

    DISEqC 1.1 & 1.2 functions compared?

Ku motor and 8X1 DiSEqC switch working together on my receiver I've been testing my two new X2 Premium HD receivers. FYI, I was attracted to this STB for the DiSEqC 1.1 feature along with the DVB-S2 Blind scanner. I'm now reporting what I have experienced today with this STB and the 8X1 switch...

    DISEqC 1.1 & 1.2 functions compared?

Hi, if I am reading your post correctly, I may help define the positioning system in Pansat and alike; the assigned numbers are related to the 360° configuration. Each receiver type may represent this in various ways but the main idea is that they use simple math in determining the numbers for...

    DISEqC 1.1 & 1.2 functions compared?

@ Fat Air, you have some interesting thoughts and questions, and this point about the 4x1 sw with the 1.2 logo, and if it will control a motor on the other side (between RX and Motor) and after the 4x1 sw. I myself have not studied up much on this subject as we seem to still learn new things...

    DISEqC 1.1 & 1.2 functions compared?

I've recently wondered about the receivers that do and do not have the DISEqC 1.1 protocol option that controls up to 16 ports. It's been noted here in an old 2008 thread that is closed but I question that too when I read what other sources say about switch control. It's said that both 1.1 and...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

Thanks Guyz!!! Lak7, I was suspecting that this was still an issue as I didn't read of any solution yet provided. Does anybody know what the specs are on the Flash-rom and SDRAM? I don't find anything in the mfr specs. Thus far, this receiver has more going for it than many other high...

Thanks for your reply. I'm hoping I can get answers to all these questions. Over the time that you've used this receiver, what's your overall opinion?

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

OPENBOX S9 HD Hi Guys, This thread has valuable info and I've read nearly every post but I have some questions if any of you can please answer. 1. How is this box working with the RTV S2 feeds on AMC-3 (87w) C-band? 2. Are there any HDD and/or enclosure compatibility issues? 3. What's the...

Scott, Mike123abc hit the nail on the head, this type of malware does not need to be on your servers, I too suspect it was linked to one of your sponsor ads. Unfortunately we don't know which one and if the infected sponsor is maintaining their servers properly they will find and terminate it...

DJ Rob, I have Malwarebytes and much more, it's not on my PC, I caught it before it was planted. These don't get planted unless you click on them and I didn't. They first appear from a source as a warning and then when the user clicks on it then it will infest itself. I've seen these before and...

Thanks for your reply, you're talking to a cerified PC repair tech and I know what this is and it's not my PC as you say. I have very good antivirus software and it was just scanned yesterday and then this happens the first time I login to SatelliteGuys since weeks ago. My registry is clean and...

    TUFF TV now on 83.0W

Since my last post this morning I tested it again by first deleting all TP's then a factory default, I then manually input the Qpsk settings and scanned, all channels scanned in, I then did the same TP deletion and a factory reset then input the 8psk settings and scanned, all the channels...

    TUFF TV now on 83.0W

B.J., yes the Pansat does scan them in at either Qpsk or 8psk with pilot on. I first had scanned them in manually with the posted parameters using 8psk and all worked fine. I later tested the blind scan to see if I was missing anything and it scanned them in as Qpsk, I then deleted every single...

    Risks benefits of going uncovered

I agree AC, it appears that only a selective few receivers have descent PSU's, all of the other's have sub standard PSU's. Not only are the Caps crap, so are all the other components. The PSU's are not manufactured by the mainboard manufacturers so in many models the mainboards can be of a high...

    Galaxy 3 @ 95W C Band some Channels gone?

I concur with the polarity issue regarding the (My Fam TV) 3744 V 2206 freq, I noticed a difference between this and other sats as I had to adjust the lnb polarity to peak the signal, it is touchy, it's been like this since I first tuned it in over a year ago.

    TUFF TV now on 83.0W

I weeded through all of the affiliate lists on the RTV website and noted that about half of the listed networks are not on C-band, at least not for me. Almost all of the C-band feeds have a unique PDF file posted while the others show the National feed schedule. WDIO is one of the channels that...

    Risks benefits of going uncovered

In addition to the other's posts, the under side of the stb should have good air space as well in the event it's overheating. Don't place it on top of other devices and even if it's not, you can try placing some thin wood strips (one on each side parallel to one another but be careful not to...

    Combine satellite/over air antenna

This is the basic application, no other switch is needed except for any you might be using for the dish itself. Only 2 diplexers are needed to combine the 2 sources.

Strange Results Between Two Diffewrent DIshes

If I may add, the offset angle of both dishes are different as follows; Fortec Star FC80CM 32" = 22.75° offset angle WSI WS9036 = 24.62° offset angle The difference of these offset angles may be the issue, if I'm correct, the motor elevation should be compensated in relation to the dish...

    Anybody getting RTV?

Get a C-band dish, a DVB-S2 receiver and aim it at 87W and you'll have more RTV shows than you can watch at one time.

More new channels on Galaxy19 97W

Convenience and exposure are a big factor, Broadcasters are able to reach more viewers by being grouped on one sat than to be scattered here & there. This would make other sats less desirable and many other sats may not be fully operational either.

    Phlat hits Hispasat from Hillbillistan

I'd like to see some of you guys toy with inverting your dish (upside down) if the dish elevation bracket limits you. :) It would be interesting to see how it works for you guys out there on the eastern side. I can go as low as 58W with my DG380 motorized 90cm dish here in So Cal, I haven't...
