    missoula locals in hd

I wonder if the Boise spot goes far enough each to reach Helena? Bozeman might be a little too far.

    missoula locals in hd

Did all 4 Idaho Falls DMA networks fire up yesterday? I thought I only saw ABC and NBC on the uplink report.

    missoula locals in hd

If you're in Bozeman, I think you might be too far to the edge of the spotbeam to get the HD channels. I'm in Helena and was planning to make the "move" because I think I'm close enough. Bozeman/Butte is scheduled to go HD something in Q2, so hopefully some other parts of the state will start...

Any sign of KMMF - FOX in Missoula being uplinked too?

I thought I saw a spotbeam map that showed SLC going fairly far north, but maybe I was wrong. Might have been Boise or something else.

I'm pretty sure Helena is within the SLC spotbeam, but one of their locals (ABC?) still isn't available right? Any word on when SLC will have all of the "Big 4?"

Are the days of moving over

The local news here in Helena is probably even worse than Casper's as far as production quality goes. They stopped broadcasting the news on weekends altogether and the weather uses screen grabs from the Weather Channel for graphics. We watch it more for the entertainment value than the actual...

Looks like I'll be "moving" from Chicago to Albuquerque while waiting for a Montana spotbeam to become available. I probably missed the uplink report, but is there any word on when the Missoula or Bozeman/Butte DMA's will be available in HD.

If you could pick a DMA to live in

The DMA (Chicago) I already "moved" to is perfect. Big Ten Network and Cubs games!!! But it looks like I'll be moving back to a Montana spotbeam or maybe even Idaho soon.

    can i move?

Use the chat feature on DishNetwork.com and you won't even have to speak with anybody. Just tell them you've temporarily moved and have already moved the dish and it's working perfectly. You just need to change your service address. Give them an address of a business in Hiawatha with an Apt #...

Just do a chat session with customer service instead of calling. Works like a charm and is SOOOO easy.

FNC-HD and a few others Monday would be a great early Christmas present from Charlie!

    DTVPal ?

Scott - Is there any equipment out there that would convert analog to digital in order to resolve the LP analog issue that I have?
  14. mthawki

    DTVPal ?

This has probably been discussed ad nauseum, but I couldn't find a specific answer. Will a DTVPal or similar converter box take an analog low power signal, convert it to digital and show up in my 722 OTA guide and be recordable to my DVR? Our local PBS is broadcast via LP analog and won't...

    Locals question

Could I "move" to a DMA that doesn't have PBS as part of a locals package and also where it's not available OTA to get PBS-X? Then if I "moved" again to a CONUS HD DMA, would the CSR be attentive enough to remove the PBS-X from my programming?

    Locals question

What are the qualifications to get the National PBS channel on 249?

    DVD player connection

Should be able to just connect the DVD player to your TV with HDMI or component cables depending on the equipment you have.

Ordering Dish through someone other than Dish directly

    Two words: DishStore. 'Nuff said.

    PBS after "moving"

I guess it might just be a trade-off then...gain the Big 4 in HD and lose the PBS SD that I had in my original local DMA package. The local PBS here is apparently only broadcast on a repeater station which doesn't seem to fall under the digital transition guidelines. I'm playing phone/email...

    PBS after "moving"

I probably would qualify for it in my local DMA, but not in my new HD DMA.

    PBS after "moving"

Other than OTA, is there any way to get PBS after "moving?" The Chicago PBS stations are showing up in my guide, but only the Big 4 HD networks are available outside of the spotbeam. Hopefully I'm not SOL, but I have a feeling I might be unless I can grab the local PBS OTA. Thank you all...

Potential Customer -- Question on TurboHD

The deals you can get as a new customer or an existing customer can vary greatly, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have her call Dishstore. Chances are better that she'll get the best possible deal there than anywhere else.

Potential Customer -- Question on TurboHD

I signed up a couple weeks ago with DishStore too and they were great. Can't beat the rebate either!

    Some questions about "moving"

In a nutshell, you pick a market from which HD locals are broadcast CONUS, then you change your service address to a location in that city. Then you will get the regional sports network for that DMA as well. Search this site for "CONUS HD locals" and you'll get the complete list of cities...
