    Pioneer SIR-PNR 1

I believe that the press release stated it would work with XM ready receivers back to 2001. I could be wrong, but I could have sworn I read that somewhere..

    Got Sirius for Christmas!

Yep, you can get it at CC.. For the older radios, you want the SIRSWB.. for newer radios, you want the SATSWB. They both are basically the same, except for the size of the plug. Either will work with both generations of radios, but you may need a size adapter (make sure it is MONO) to make fit.

Do you listen to the sports programming?

I can understand that. It determined my choice because of my passion in EPL and college BBall. I could always Tivo stuff and watch it later, but being able to listen to the live play by play, it seems you just get more passion in it, unlike some of the TV announcers. Also, if the games don't...

Do you listen to the sports programming?

I have Sirius right now, and I love it for all it offers. I'm a soccer (or properly football) addict, so having the EPL handy while I sit through my son's indoor soccer games is incredibly handy. Of course, I'm a huge college hoops fan as well, so the recent March Madness announcements are...

Do you listen to the sports programming?

Just trying to gauge the overall interest in sports programming on both services.

    Sirius Newbie

Yeah, there are repeaters in Philly, or supposed to be, but I'm not sure how effective they are. I believe I read somewhere that unless you were directly downtown they didn't work so well. And by straight up I meant completely folded so that the Sirius logo is pointed straight up at the sky...

    Sirius Newbie

    1. First thing I can think of is the just point the antenna straight up instead of in a general direction, especially if it is outside. You will usually receive better reception this way, even though they tell you to "point" the antenna. 2. I recall that the deal does indeed start with...

    Xm antenna for Sirius receiver

in most cases, yep, it will work just fine.

    Tivo & OTA question

Just to point out, the SD tivos's can't do this, but hte HD tivo can do this without problems.

Tuning in to the right FM station for my Sirius radio to work correctly.

Or, after you figure out that Sirius rules, and you couldn't possibly go back to FM, just remove your FM antenna :)

    Audiovox/JVC hook up question

Yep, a cassette adapter would absolutely work, and for some, works very very well. Others have had issues with factory cassette players rejecting the adapter because of it's auto-flip type functions, but usually there are ways around that.

Any New Sirius Deals or Promo Codes????

The newest deal is code 070 for a free Xact stream jockey. I have one of these and I love it.

A Pretty Good Deal On Sirius Radios

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but when you buy a yearly subscription you get a month free, only, you have the wait 6-9 days to get it, so, you get 3 weeks free. I'm not sure what the real complaint is, other than you aren't getting all your free time. If you were actually paying for...

    terrestrial antenna on JVC PNP?

Like I mentioned, people have had great success with the Terk SIRMINI. It supposedly is able to filter out interference from other sources the best of any mobile antenna.

    terrestrial antenna on JVC PNP?

Steve, Welcome to SG.us. To answer A, the JVC should only have a single connection for the antenna, and the antenna should only have a single connector as well. The older units had separate connectors for sat and terrestrial signals, but the newer ones have a single connector. As far as...

    One or two receivers

    1. They seem to be fairly durable really. These things are usually tested fairly well, and of course may decrease in effectiveness if aged, but overall I wouldn't worry about it much. 2. I always remove mine, and either shove it into my pocket, or throw it in the glovebox. 3. Yep, sure...

    Sirius Install

The home antennas do seem a little more quirky than the car antennas. If you can get the thing outside somewhere, you'll have less issues than trying to find a spot that works in the house or near a window. The car antennas seem to do better indoors than the home antennas. Not sure why this...

Newbie!!! ? on D* HD Receivers

Titan, on the 42" HD ready: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1055388007164&skuId=5606702&productCategoryId=cat03006&type=product I don't usually do the whole service plan/warranty things, but for some reason I opted for the protection.

    Hbo-hd, Showtime-hd

fkostyn has it exactly right. It's a convenience issue for some people. Because it's HD, some folks think it belongs down with the other HD channels. Then there are others who think that because it is HBO, it belongs on the 500's with the other HBO channels. Since it doesn't really have a...

    Hbo-hd, Showtime-hd

It's not wasting anything. It's just mapped to the same channel number. Only one channel's worth of data is coming to you. So if you are thinking "Why are they wasting the bandwidth on this when they could be bringing me another HD channel?" it's not quite correct thinking.

Newbie!!! ? on D* HD Receivers

First off, can't go wrong with the Grand Wega, no matter what size :D Secondly, yes, all the D* HD box's pick up OTA so no worries there. This is basically my setup as well (except I have the 42") and everything looks fantastic.

Is there a walkman style satellite receiver?

The Xact XTR1 is "close" when used in the mobile power pod, or so it seems. The more knowledgable at siriusbackstage seem to love this unit.
