    another installation question for apartment

At my apartment there is just one cable running in from the outside and it is split several times inside to the various rooms. My question is, can I use a DP34 with just one line coming in from the sat and split it off to two receivers? I have a DishPro Twin LNBF. Is there an easier way to...

    requirements to get 'new' account

Probably not worth the effort. Dieing is pretty harsh. By the way, why won't I be liked here?

    requirements to get 'new' account

I've moved and would like to add receivers and go with a new DHA plan, but I can't since I'm an existing customer w/ 3 months left on a 1yr agreement. With the new address, is it an easy sure thing to setup a new account under the wife's name? I have the same phone number. Can I freely talk to...

New house wiring questions and "OTA-only" 811

Also, what about a way to hook up the 811 and only use it for OTA along with a 522 on the same TV? Do I just have to run another line from the dish, or is there a way to split off?

New house wiring questions and "OTA-only" 811

Distribution box, what does that consist of? 4 cables for 4 sats? I thought you ran one cable in for each tuner (or dual tuner) and that took care of multiple sats. Maybe the Superdish is different in that way than my Dishpro 500. Is a DP44 needed if I don't have Superdish? If I run 4...

New house wiring questions and "OTA-only" 811

I am building my wife a new house, and I want to plan on the wiring. Here's what I'd like to have: 4 TVs, one of which would be a PVR. I'd also like to hook up my 811 in the room with the PVR to 'see' the signal but only so I can use it for local HD. The dual tuner models seem to save you...

I'll move twice in the next six months, what would you do?

I'm not sure what you mean by a dish card to get a referral. Do you mean ME get a card and 'refer' my wife? I'm missing something, cause that still doesn't make sense to me. Are you sure signing up under the wifey will work?

I'll move twice in the next six months, what would you do?

I can put up a dish on a pole, and there is one next door, so I think I am even clear on the direction and trees, etc. One kicker is that the installation supposedly has to be done by a licensed person, otherwise I could easily do it myself. Something about getting the cable people to allow...

I'll move twice in the next six months, what would you do?

Sorry for the long story, but I appreciate your input. I am a 10 month E* subscriber. Got the 811 for free to go with my 50" Mistubishi. I have about 3 months left on a 1 year commitment. Right now I also have cable, but I sold my house and will be moving into an apartment. We are building a...

Interesting call from D* (former customer, now with E*)

I got this call last night from DirecTV, saying they were calling former customers. I politely told them that I was now a Dish customer. They then go into "pushy" mode where they say they can send me some new equipment for $49. I tell them that I got MY equipment for free plus 3 months free...

    help with HD aspect ratio?

I think someone has had this same problem, but I can't find the posts. Most of my HD content is fine in good 'ol 16:9 format, but I noticed the local OTA WB last night was 4:3 with bars on top and bottom, too! The show plainly said as it come on that the broadcast was in HD where available. It...
