    Sluggish 722k menus fixed

Well, that's not what fixed it. When the 722k is first installed the processor is very busy for the first 24 hours, getting the program guide set up, on demand recordings, and other things. When it gets caught up it's fine. Set your remote back to 2 and there will be no slowdown.

    DP Twin LNBF Ports independant??

Drift is a problem, and will cause you to lose transponders. The internal oscillator is crucial to keeping a lock on the signal, and its compensation circuitry is failing. You need to replace the LNB.

    No More HBO/Shotime Special?

Thanks peoples. I should have said that I'm an 'old guy', and object to paying for TV at all. Plus I hate autopay, because it sux on general principals. I get my paycheck as a check, and I pays me bills by check; not giving them any more control than necessary. OTOH I have an advanced...

    No More HBO/Shotime Special?

Just called about signing up again, and they say there's no more HBO/Sho free for 3 months. When did that happen? I want only HD channels, probably Silver ($45), but I also want premium movie channels. There's the Starz pack, but that doesn't look promising. I want HBO ($16) free for at...

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

It's a mystery how you interpret 'smart mouthing' from my reply. I can only attribute this to the obvious difference in our educations. (Now that's smart mouthing)

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

Now see; this is why the internet is no longer any fun. So many just come here to dump on people. Trying to pump themselves up by putting others down. Sick. harshness, that's all very nice. (Although what are you talking about 'rationalizing'? You do not seem to know what that word...

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

Of course this is what I've always done. But I want to understand what's going on technically.
  22. Q

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

Doesn't make sense. The LNB is controlled by 13 & 18 volts and some digital signalling, no matter what receiver. I don't understand how it would be different for a 311?
  23. Q

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

Why? It doesn't matter. The Dish signal is the Dish signal, no matter what receiver or system setup. The sat communication is the same. Don't you know that?
  24. Q

    Diplexing Internet & Dish Signal

I've tried diplexing internet and Dish's sat signal, and occasionally it works, but often not, and at least once it actually damaged the internet modem. I suspect there are certain carriers who use a digital signal, which is incompatible, and others who use analog which is. Can anyone...

How to Tell if it's H.264 or Mpeg2?

He's saying that it's the incoming signal's modulation that determines what the receiver will operate at. If QPSK then most SDs will decode it. If 8PSK then only 8PSK-capable SD receivers will decode it.
