Describe your house in more detail. Is it a bungalow, 2 story ect. Do you have a basement and are any of the RG6 sat. wires going thru there? Can you see the different wires or are they enclosed in a sealed wall ect. Are any of them unconnected? Need to know the model # of that switch too.

The new switch, what does it look like? It should have a model # wrote on it.

Follow the line you know that works right now and see where it goes. You might find a it passing by an area with a bunch or unconnected wires going to other rooms or they may be connected to a multiswitch. Once you know that then report back and somebody should be able to help you from there.

A 5 gallon bucket half filled with a bag of cement and a piece of galvanized electrical pipe put into it (2 1/4" I think) works perfectly. You can even leave space at the top of the bucket and put some soil and a nice creeping plant to hide the back of the dish. It's cheap to make and works...

I use the sat fuctions more than the tv functions. Basically I only use TV fuctionality to adjust the volume, turn it on/off and select an input. I programmed the DN remote to do the tv, not the other way around. The buttons on the Sony remote won't come close to getting all the sat...

What is an x22 reciever? I never heard of them. Tried a search on ebay and all I could find is this: I got a chuckle out of it but haven't been able to learn anything about an X22 reciever.

What are the advantages of DVI? I guess I couldn't take advantage of it since I have an older TV (Sony XBR400) which only has component inputs.

How many sat's are you hitting right now? Count the connections on the "to dish" connectors on your first switch. If one of those connectors is not used, you can use that to pick up the 148.
