Upgrading to HD, check my pricing quote -LONG-

Does your TV have a tuner built in? If so, an antenna would be your only cost to get locals. If your TV does not have a tuner or if it has a bad tuner, buy an OTA HD receiver and and Antenna. One time cost - locals forever.

Taking the HD plunge in Indianapolis

Antenna. I live 60 miles away in Lafayette and use this: HD7084P Winegard 68 Element High-Definition VHF/UHF Antenna. I pick up the networks in Indy but could use the next biggest antenna from Winegard as I loose the signal on FOX from time to time. You should be able to get broadcasts from...

Why do people bash Voom? It's great.

When I had the VOOM satellite service, I had over 40 HD channels. Their home grown channels do become redundant - but I like the content overall.

The best thread title in ages. Just the title made me laugh. Happy Holidays everyone.

    Indianapolis HD locals

I live in Lafayette and have an Antenna that goes for around $130 (A Winegard) and I pull in FOX/ABC/NBC/CBS/PBS in HD from Indy.

    622 OTA Tuner

Edit 2 - Yes, this is how I do it but I have my TV's mirroring each other. The best bet would be splitting your OTA (Assuming that TV 2 has a tuner). Also, doing this will get you an HD picture if TV two is HD.

    622 OTA Tuner

I have no problems with this. I simply connect the RCA connectors (TV2 on the back of the 622) to the RCA Video/Audio in on my second tv and it all works just fine. EDIT - OOOps - I believe I am mistaken.

    HGTV in HD

    AN interesting GROUND

Yes, it's not even my dish. Looks like the installer really took some short cuts. Including throwing the cable over the side of the roof, drilling a hole in an aluminum framed window, and feeding the cable through. This is after he was asked not to. There is even a cable feed above that he...

    AN interesting GROUND

I live in an old school that has a flat roof. I went up to the rooftop today to see a neighbor's new install (a dish for satellite only) and found that it had been grounded in a very odd way. The cable has the ground running along side and the installer actually attached the ground to THE...

622 TV2 tuner viewing option question

I simply don't know. But can't you just give this a try or could you damage the equipment? I'm sure someone will know right away. Cheers.

622 TV2 tuner viewing option question

Example: TV1 is tuned to HDNet viewing/recording something, but I want to watch something on ESPN. Do I pick up the TV2 remote and tune in to 9424 or just what are my options? I absolutely dont want to interfere with what is happening on TV1's tuner. My experience is that when recording...

Indy HD Locals? Sooner or later!?

You could do that yourself for $300 or less. $750 sounds quite high.

Indy HD Locals? Sooner or later!?

Yes, *when* the signal is there, the OTA PQ is Terrific. I'm going to up my antenna to a Wingard 71 element and should pull in FOX 59 and PBS much better than I do now. And perhaps 4 when they go full power.

Indy HD Locals? Sooner or later!?

That's Odd. I'm up in Lafayette and I can pull in CBS and FOX. Could your antenna be "over shooting" the signal (FOX). I can't remember where PBS is coming from.

Indy HD Locals? Sooner or later!?

Do you use an OTA for your locals now? I'm in LAfayette and can pull in the Indy stations on my OTA. You should get a decent mount of HD content from an OTA in Indy.

    622 install

My 622 was installed two days ago and the installer knew all the tricks to get it going. He did several reboots and ended up putting the Splitter on the back (Using just one line for TV 1 and 2 - this seemed to do the trick. Although, I never did get the 622 demo's he said would download onto...

Dish Vip 622 and the World Cup

I'm for the US (As far as they can go anyway) and then I like England, France, Germany, Spain and Brazil. I watch The Spanish League on World Sport so it is great to see all those players on one team (Well, the Spanish ones at least) :) Enjoy the Cup

Today Ordered Vip622: 30 Day Wait!!!

Mine was installed yesterday and I only ordered it last Friday. (two day wait only - I paid $199.99 and will turn in my Vipp 211). The tech was great about making sure I had a "good" one. He rebooted several times, did several chech switches, and finally got it up and running. He did use the...

Dish Vip 622 and the World Cup

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just had a Vip 622 installed including a Dish 1000 and it all went down pretty well. The tech worked through some receiver start-up issues but in the end the whole system is up and running. And I LOVE it. As I type, the receiver is recording the two live World...

    upgrading to a 622

I just upgraded - you pay the $199.99 over the phone via Credit Card. Then the receiver is installed - mine went in this morning. It took some time but so far, so good. It looks to be a great receiver. They installed a dish 1000 (No more 61.5, 129 instead). I was told and a note was made...

    Hd Dvr - $349?!

$349?! That's the lowest it has ever been. It's a bargain. I'd double and triple check that quote. Just to rent the unit costs you $199 up front.
