Can Dish and Cable Co-exist on Coax?

If I remember I had successfully used this with the Dish Hopper and cable internet. It worked very well.. As for Joey. there was a separate run from the dish Joey using an alternate switch.

Can you mirror Hopper 3 on 2nd TV?

You can also use an hdmi splitter and then use a baln hdmi to coax converter. This comes with a pair. hdmi to ethernet is cheaper if you have ethernet runs around your home. The drop of your target location can convert back from coax or ethernet to hdmi. I've used this with the joey in one...

Can Dish and Cable Co-exist on Coax?

I'm surprised at the answers given. Offcourse you can do this. Its called a pair of Diplexers. Search for the "Holland Diplexer Splitter DPD2 Satellite FTA Dish TV" on ebay and get two. I have successfully run Cable TV/Cable Internet and Dish on one Coax around the home. Infact you can go higher...

Possible to use 1000.2 dish for 1000.4?

Bobby. you do remember well on the CONUS locals. :) I had also changed my configuration to a partial western ARC solution with 110,119,118.5 and 72.7 as the wing dish. I had used the DPP lnb on I believe a single old Dish 500. I changed the DMA to San Diego and since San Diego is on spot, it...

Possible to use 1000.2 dish for 1000.4?

Northern Michigan should work well with dish 1000.2 with the dual lnb which gets 61.5 and 72. 77 is not needed. I was in los angeles and had the dish 1000.4 with three lnb's for 61.5, 72 and 77 because the 1000.4 got the signal levels to the mid 40's vs the low 20's of 1000.2. Pointing is...

    SAT. 118

I guess Dish does not care much for the Internationals as It would replicate 118 onto 77. For the sake of discussion, all internationals were earlier located on 61.5 before the 118 FSS came into being. I believe in the earlier days it was 61.5 and for the west, we could point to 148 which is not...

    SAT. 118

I have used the eastern arc in mix with the 118 only. The setup was 72, 61.5, 77 and I added the 118 in the single input. The International LNB had to be changed out to the version without the built in switch. I didn't have an issue with the guide populating and it worked totally fine. I don't...

    SAT. 118

Dishworld is not a viable solution as its sling/internet based and does not have a dvr option. From my knowledge the International package are now considered as a basic package and you don't need to subscribe to any thing more. You do need the dish 500+ to get the 118 with the guide as the guide...

Not happy, being forced to leave Dish.

I know how dish handles such situations. No wonder they are rated as one of the worst companies in customer service. The only hope you would have is one of the DIRTS here. They are the only ones who really help in situations like this. I live in Los Angeles and installed the eastern arc myself...

    Old Dish LNBF. Still compatible?

With that you will pick up 110/119 and will get all the available HD's as well on 110. You can add a cheap wing dish from Craig list for sat 129 and add it to the mix. The newer ones of the 110/119 had an input for the wing so you could get a cheap dish wing and complete the setup. Alternatively...

    1000.2 or 1000.4

Let me pitch in with my personal usage of Eastern arc from 1000.2 to 1000.4. Note: I'm located in Los Angeles and Eastern Arc is not designed for installation on the west coast. I had the dish 1000.2 installed and I would pull signals of about 11 to 15 in yellow on satellite 72 but 61.5 came in...

Is there another UI? Do we have to upgrade the equipment again from the hopper/joey. Is there a preview of the new UI? I guess its going to be a black theme to incorporate 4k style templates.

    Hopper & Joey in Canada

barring the question on the location, the hopper and super joey makes more sense over the 722k as you get a total of 5 tuners. The interface is better and 5 tuners is a huge plus. With the hopper and the regular joey, you get 3 tuners and the upgraded UI which imo is much better than the 722k.

    Mirror Tvs with a Joey

You can mirror either the Hopper or the Joey as you prefer. And it can be done in HD. I've done that in my apartment and it works perfectly well. You will need: (Material's Required) (Search on ebay) 1. 100M HDMI + IR over single 75ohm Coax Cable Extender Balun Sender Receiver BNC - $125~ 2...

LNB Screws Rusted Solid - Can't Remove

Really wood screw. Never seen it. The screw the OP is talking about is the screw below the lnb and that does get rusted over time. specially in the east coast where snow and rain is a part of life. :D

Adding Dish Network service to a second home

Lets answer the OP's question to the point. Technically, if you have two receivers on the same account and both activated, then they should work even if the locations are different. As for the locals, currently there aren't any CONUS locals that you can tap on to unless, you get on to 77 or...

Can't Get LA Locals in HD

How is that possible. Both SD and HD are on the same Spot 39. If you get SD then you should technically get SD. As mentioned can you clarify how are you getting San Diego? Did you change your DMA with an SD Address? with DIRT? Before switching DMA's test the transponders mentioned on the SAT...

Can't Get LA Locals in HD

Conus LA Locals were not for subs I believe. They have long been gone. What is the policy on dish in such situations where the spot does not reach. I doubt dish would set them selves for a failure such as this where the spot does not make it.

Can't Get LA Locals in HD

Irony. I am in LA and can't get it as I can't pull 129. I can get 110/119/118.5 and 72.7. So I pull all HD's from eastern arc and the locals from San Diego DMA. it gets annoying when the local news hits San Diego from 110.
