Who was the problem, me or the Service Techs?

I would have been fine with those suggested solutions. But those ideas were not mentioned. In the past I have swapped my own receivers that went bad with no problems. Thanks for the feedback, I understand. Norm

Who was the problem, me or the Service Techs?

Yes, Telephone Tech support had me look at that. After they replaced the dish and LNBs from a 1000.4 to 1000.2 Eastern Arc, that did not fix it. But changing the receiver did fix it.

Who was the problem, me or the Service Techs?

I should clarify that point. Infact that is what he said, that he couldn't go on the roof without a harness. I didn't watch him go on the roof to say that he did or did not use one. My point was that he was complaining, to me, that the dish was on my roof. Placed there by previous Dish...

Who was the problem, me or the Service Techs?

Thanks for the replies. I thought the first Tech could have saved a lot of time if he had checked inside to see that the signal strength on the cable was okay, just the receiver was bad. Although he said they wanted to change the dish anyway. Not sure why. Seems like the dish and LNB was...

Who was the problem, me or the Service Techs?

I've had Dish for coming up on 10 years. A happy customer, and have not had any problems in several years. But I just had a 2-part service call completed, and it left me somewhat scratching my head wondering. I have a 722 DVR. Occasional pixelation and lost signal started several months...

Switched to EasternArc but dish still thinks I can watch PPV on 119W?

Thanks for your answer, sir. I am in the same boat. I have 2 PPV certificates that expire soon.

Switched to EasternArc but dish still thinks I can watch PPV on 119W?

I was following (not too closely) the problem with 77, and I had read in another thread in a post today by Matt@Dish that 77 was supposed to have HD PPV ch 508-515. So you're saying ch 520 is the same situation?

Switched to EasternArc but dish still thinks I can watch PPV on 119W?

Tonight I was thinking about ordering a PPV movie. Went to the dish website, and noticed the movie I wanted to watch was on ch 520. This channel is not in my guide. Doing some digging on the satelliteguys channel chart, found this ch is on the 119W bird. On the other hand I also see movies...

    New DISH Network Customer Portal

Looks good. I say the more information you can get without calling a CSR, the better. I also, as others have said, found out I have 2 PPV coupons issued 7/29/10. Does anyone have any idea why I got these? Not that I'm complaining!

    DISH Network June 3rd FAQ's

I have America's Top 200, and pay $10/month for HD Silver, NO Platinum. I have had autopay and paperless billing for years. I think I already meet all the requirements. Do I need to take any action? Or does this mean if I call up and ask, my bill will drop by $10/month for the same...

for those with a 522 or 625, remote Access is now up and running

[Rant on] Actually that has never made sense to me. When I set a new timer, it is a good bet I care about recording that show more than older timers I may have forgotten about. Please Dish Network, make the priority default to number 1 for ALL new timers! [Rant off]

    TIVO vs E*

In plain english it means nothing to you now. The most likely outcome of all of this is no impact ever to any Dish customers in any way. It simply means E* will probably pay a chunk of money to Tivo, either to buy a license or buy the company. E* has the money to do either one, and the bottom...

    Newbie DVR question

I don't think it's possible either. If you are expecting the DVR to show 50 minutes recorded instead of 60, it may be lying to you. There is a thought somewhere in my memory that I may have seen this happen before on my DVR. Try watching the recording and see if the screen saying: "Part of...

    Dish Security Conversion Schedule

I thought if your 722 is new enough it doesn't need a card because the built-in "card" already has the new encryption.

any way to get an IR extender working with a dish 612?

I have the Terk IR extender you show in picture #1 and it works fine for me all the time. I use it to control a JVC DVD player, a JVC VCR, and a Radio Shack Amplifier. I also have my 722 in the same stack, but I'm using a UHF remote, so the 722 has both the IR and the UHF signal, so I can't...

    Charlie Chat Recap 3-09-09

A Nielsen article, dated Dec 11, 2008 says 23.3% of households own at least 1 HDTV set. Another article, in betanews, dated April 24, 2008 tells of studies by ABI and Magid that show among HDTV ownwers, only 56% or 70% (respectively) have access to HD programming. Let's take the middle ground...

    Disadvantages to Bundling?

That doesn't sound good. I'm actually looking forward to Dish Online scheduling. I hear it's coming "soon". How about the tax question? If they charged me tax that I don't pay now it would erase more than half of the expected savings. Thanks for the responses. -Norm

    Disadvantages to Bundling?

I received a letter from my TelCo/DSL provider offering to bundle my existing Dish Network account with them, so all 3 services would be on one bill. According to the letter I will save $10 per month for doing so. I have to agree to a 24 month commitment, but assuming I plan to keep the...

New here but not new to Dish Network

The only real difference between the 522 and 625 is the size of the hard drive, determining how many hours you can record. They are both dual tuner, dual output DVRs. I have a 625 and I love it.
