I understand. Bottom line ... I'm glad it works as is.

That's interesting. I have SWM also. I will double check, but I think if I disconnect the Ethernet, I lose MRV. I will test that.

    Whole home networking

The interesting thing is the D* customer service rep insisted that I spend the $199 and go to the DECA system. I even suggested resetting all the receivers and he didn't want me to do that. Why on earth would anybody want to add another device if they could simply use the Ethernet only?

    Whole home networking

Ok. I reset all DVRs and all is working again. I don't know what this DECA thing is, but it appears not to be required.

    Whole home networking

I have four HR22s connected to my network via wired ethernet. It has been that way for a few years now. I have been sharing playlist between my DVRs since it first became available and via the cutting edge program before it was available to the general public. It was working great until a...

    Media server trick play

Without trick play, I don't see how playon via the directv box is a viable option. I thinking about buying a second roku box for the other TV instead of using playon.

    Media server trick play

When accessing a media server (e.g. Playon) via my Directv box, I can pause, but not fast forward or rewind. Am I doing something wrong? Are there any plans to enhance that feature?

    Playon

I'm using Playon to view Netflix, Hulu, etc from my HR-22s. I'm able to pause a program, but I have not ability to rewind or fast-forward. I'm assuming that may not be possible due to the nature of internet streaming.

    hr-22 very brief audio drop

I having occasional audio drops with my hr-22. These drops are only for about 1 second, so it isn't that big of deal. During a typical "24" episode it will happen 4 or 5 times. It also seems to happen during intense action scenes with there is a lot of noise. Also, I rarely watch live tv...

Just Got Directv and love it.

I recently change from comcast to directv and was happy with everything but the HD PQ. Definitely a little watered down on my home theater screen. My answer was to by the $49 AM-21 w/ a $25 antenna in the attic. It makes a difference on shows like 24. So I figure for $75, I fixed the...

    Streaming Netflix?

I discovered Playon after I purchased a Roku. Both work great. I did find that my XP machine works better as a media server than my vista machine; even though the XP machine is several years old. I've also install TVersity for photos and home videos. I probably would hvae passed on the Roku...

    Diplexer question (Directv & OTA)

I got it to work ... here's the link on how I did it (item #22) http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-technical-discussions/166050-ota-sharing-same-cable-2.html

    OTA sharing same cable

It works. I connected the amplified antenna output and the satellite output to a diplexer (with power passing) outside the house. I made no changes to the SWS-4 or power inserter inside the basement. I then attached a diplexer at each television. I didn't lose any of the satellite signal...

    Diplexer question (Directv & OTA)

Would it be possible to use a standard 5-3000mhz wide range spilter to combine the directv and ota signals on the dish side as long as I use a diplexer (that spilts the sat signal from the ota signal) on the receiver side?

    SD DirectTV vs OTA

If I attach an AM-21 to my HR-22 and install the proper OTA antenna, would I get the uncompressed OTA signals or does the AM-21 do something to water down the picture quality.

    OTA sharing same cable

I guess I can give it a try with the diplexers I have. They are the MCR HP-102 with power pass to one of the ports.

    OTA sharing same cable

I think I have figured a way to get another cable to my SWS-4. But now I'm confused on how to diplex the OTA signal into my SWS unit. Here is how the Directv installer left it: 1. The R-6 directv run from the satellite connects to the "IN" port of the SWS 2. The power inserter connects to...

    OTA sharing same cable

I understand ... for my purposes, out of the single jack I have in that room and would simply need another diplexer to spilt the signal into the directv HR22 and the other into the AM-21. Also ... I now think I could move the power inserter. It would be outside, but for the most part...

    OTA sharing same cable

Why do you need to use a SWS-2 instead of another diplexer used as a spilter?
  22. D

    OTA sharing same cable

The only way I could do it would be to put the diplexer before the power inserter. I'm assuming that won't work. However, I do have another cable from the outside being used for my cable modem. Could I use that cable by diplexing the OTA signal with the comcast signal and then spilting it at...

    OTA sharing same cable

Is it possible to bring the OTA signal in over the same cable was the satellite feed using a Slimline dish (SL3SPIG-WNC). I'm thinking about adding an AM-21 to on of my HR-22s.

I disabled 1080i in favor of 720p. That seems to improve the picture considerably. Is that possible?
