The problem is the that the tech is only getting paid 35 bucks for the first reciever and 15 for the 2nd ,third etc. Out of this he pays for materials,gas. It's easier for him to say no way and go on to a job that he won't lose money on. There is always a way to get wires in, if you sweetened...

Sounds like your reciever needs a software update . Unplug it for a minute plug it back in and see if it gets an update from the satellite.

Yes trees and leaves will block the signal. If you can find a local retailer they will probably do a site survey free.

Flooded cable is carried on my truck but the customer pays extra for it . I've been installing for 10 years and any underground is supposed to be flooded cable. Then again I won't work for the crappy rates now being paid so my truck sits in the yard.

Swap recievers if the problem persists on the sony it's the reciever if not it's cable.

If you are going to use more than 2 recievers you will need to run more lines from the panel to the dish.

This is what direc gets for the money the hsp's are paying. I hope they are happy with the end results, by the time this guy figures out he can't make any money at the rates they pay he'll quit and the cycle will start all over. Sorry if no one has helped here but we have been forced to...

Bill your hsp up there is probably directech good luck finding an experianced tech that works for them . I was in their burlington vt. warehouse last week there was a guy loading a ford taurus wagon with a ladder strapped on top . Great image for directv. They pull warm bodies off the street...

tyork and dragonfly are right it is an alignment issue.At 42 percent you are just barely locked on to the satellite. Make sure your mast is perfectly plumb and the tilt is set correctly.

Is your 101 dish a standard or phase 3? It makes a difference in how it is wired

if your locals are off the 72.5 a filter is required it doesn't come with the reciever.

did you install the filter on the back of your reciever?

The usgs has a list of all quakes at this site http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/bulletin/ nothing but minor stuff on the 6th. I was really surprised by the numbers of quakes each day .

Are you using all three satellites if not the 4x8 or 5x8 will work just bypass the built in switch if you need all three birds you will need a 6x8 switch. The 6802 will do the job.

110 Go into your set-up menu put your zip code in and see what the tilt should be on your dish it is important that the mast is absolutly plumb and the tilt or skew is set correctly. Those numbers(signal level) aren't typical for maine.
