In my perfect tv world you'd be able to get Birmingham if you wanted it, but you'd also be able to opt for NY, Chicago, etc. If "locals" want your business fine, but if they're not willing to fork out the $$$ to get that signal to you...tough darts.

I agree with ejb...local DMA should be limited to what one can receive with rabbit ears.. 30-40 miles max. If locals want a larger market let them spend the $$$ to erect relay towers that guarantee a steady signal. No...they don't want to have to spend any $$$ just rake it in.

Jimbo, reception is fine...they're just locking up when you try and check the signal levels.

Jimbo, no other boxes...these were original install...2007 I think. I can't get a signal reading...soon as I try I get the screenshot and that's all she wrote! The only thing that's changed is not being to check the signal levels.

Jimbo... its a Slimline 5. I would have thought it a different firmware bringing on the glitch, but it wasn't changed. 0x4239 from 9-18...and it hit both boxes at the same time, so its not the box giving out. I'd update them but I like the OTA antenna and channel scanning ability.

Just started a day or two ago. When you go to check signal strength you get (picture), which locks up the boxes and you have to do a RBR (red button reset) to un-lock the boxes. It appears to be the same software version that worked ok until a couple of days ago.

Ditto. Both h20-100 boxes showing 99c tps 1-20, with tps 16-18=0, as well as tp 20=0. All other tps showing upper 80s-low 90s.

With DISH if you're on a channel you can hit menu 6-1-1 and it will display the signal strength of the channel, as well as, the sat and transponder. Is there a similar way to test a Directv channel.

Is there an larger sized dish or dishes that can be used and combined in order to received neighboring spotbeams. I guess the dish or dish combination needs to receive 2 sats at 99 and 103 ... any others? and what lnbs need to be used? switches? etc. Thanks in advance. I know you can use...

If its the same "Local on the 8s" available prior to the dispute it falls short... local on some of the 8s...unless they've modified it to function during their garbage programming. I'm glad they're keeping Weather Nation...hopefully it will improve over time. Posted Via The FREE SatelliteGuys...

I don't see where they've cut back their bs programming. 5pm in the guide shows High to Hell....so how is that weather...nbc-ccast is only going to max $$$...they don't give a s**t about providing weather...Dtv was right in dropping them...now a worthless channel. Posted Via The FREE...

A bit of trivia re Directv's feed and the MLBtv feed via Roku...the picture quality of the Dtv feed is better as well as being about 30 seconds ahead of the MLB feed of the same game.
