Just started a day or two ago. When you go to check signal strength you get (picture), which locks up the boxes and you have to do a RBR (red button reset) to un-lock the boxes. It appears to be the same software version that worked ok until a couple of days ago.

What dish are you using ?
Is that really a H20, I thought those were LONG GONE by now, I'm surprised they activated it.

They will activate an H20-100, but not an H20-600.

Jimbo... its a Slimline 5. I would have thought it a different firmware bringing on the glitch, but it wasn't changed. 0x4239 from 9-18...and it hit both boxes at the same time, so its not the box giving out. I'd update them but I like the OTA antenna and channel scanning ability.

Interesting, so you have other boxes working on that set up ?
Are thier Signal Strengths showing up as normal ?
Has anything been changed in your set up lately ?

Jimbo, no other boxes...these were original install...2007 I think. I can't get a signal reading...soon as I try I get the screenshot and that's all she wrote! The only thing that's changed is not being to check the signal levels.

Jimbo, reception is fine...they're just locking up when you try and check the signal levels.
Call in to D* and let them know about it ... they may want to upgrade you, if your interested.
Potential to get a Genie to replace a H20 would be an awesome swap in your favor.

Chances are they will want to have a truck roll to verify as this is an odd issue.

I'm sure I have seen another post about this on a different forum. Seems like it might be something to do with the new D14 satellite

No, I think it was reported only on the H20 receivers. Possibly a software incompatibility that people at DirecTv did not check properly on these old receivers...

Texas...I think you're correct that it has to do with the new sat. I'm guessing but maybe they added a table for 99ca and it ran into a glitch with the 100 boxes. I realize they're old. I just wish they had not changed the ota tuner in later models. Also Texas, as I posted elsewhere a couple of weeks ago, 720, the MLB multichannel is not compatible with the 100 boxes. The blue lines are NOT where they should be, so you're not able to select the game you want to watch by squaring it, you have to enter the channel # directly.

That's good.
What satellites do you see listed?
Hi texasbrit i'm at my upstate home right now when i get home tomorrow night around 11:30 pm est i'll check ,the only problem i had with this box was switching between SD and HD satellites with signal loss 771,repeating reset after reset ,checked lnb ,b band converter coaxial cable,i finally opened it and there was a bad voltage regulator (7824A) on the psu, replaced it also installed a fan in receiver it's been good for about a year.i get the new HD channels from new sat no problem,i'll check firmware version and sat names.
