Issues with LPB mux on 87W (SES 2)

I had the same problem with LPB on both my MicroHD a few years ago and the Amiko HD SE that replaced it last year.

    NBC 103

The AMC1 satellite (which has the oddly-skewed Ku transponders) is still in orbit at 103W, but has been operationally replaced by the SES3 satellite, also in orbit at 103W and which has normally-skewed Ku transponders. So yes, they're still there, they still work but they are turned off right...

Hobbyist Open Source Satellite Receiver - Raspberry Pi 2???

I agree...although the doing anything you tell it to is a double-edged sword: Garbage in, garbage out :)

Hobbyist Open Source Satellite Receiver - Raspberry Pi 2???

I think that's a misrepresentation of the tuner's bandwidth. Yes, just over 1GHz, but it's not split 50/50 between horizontal and vertical polarizations. The tuner will scan the full range, once using the horizontal antenna of the LNBF and once using the vertical antenna. I wouldn't call that...

Hobbyist Open Source Satellite Receiver - Raspberry Pi 2???

MillIamps to frequency is not a valid comparison or conversion. The modern LNBF as we know and use is simply an electronic device which combines one or more receive antennas and a "mixer" which converts the received signals to a standard frequency range of 950-2150 Mhz. This is the frequency...

Sat dish snow and ice removal? No problem!

Dave, I wish I had that dish for C-band, but I doubt my wife would allow one that size :)

Sat dish snow and ice removal? No problem!

The manual super soaker delivery method would work ok for most of us here in the more southern areas of the country, but an automated high-capacity method (i.e. pump, hoses and tanks) may be necessary for you Yankees. :biggrin Image courtesy of imgur.com!

My 50" Hitachi Projection TV Is Dying! :-(

Crappy SD picture? Could be that the LED tv is showing you all the SD signal's crappiness in glorius detail :) My old 27" Sony CRT tv looked great for SD, but the 37" Samsung LCD I replaced it with looks bad with many SD signals. The MicroHD has a menu to set the HDMI resolution...it's...

Sat2IP for Windows -- Stream from your Amiko Mini HD SE/RE to Windows

The Android app (at least Big2Small) exhibits the same behavior, except that it just says "The server is unavailable". I haven't been able to get the Amiko Stream app to work yet...it just asks me to scan and refresh.

Sat2IP for Windows -- Stream from your Amiko Mini HD SE/RE to Windows

I was able to re-download and install Sat2IP last night after disabling Avast, then had to add an exclusion for Sat2IP.exe so that Avast wouldn't delete it upon execution when I re-enabled the file system and real-time scans. Works good so far. The only issues I'm having are initially seeing...

Sat2IP for Windows -- Stream from your Amiko Mini HD SE/RE to Windows

iBoston...I attempted to install Sat2IP yesterday (1/11/15) using the link in your original post and my anti-virus software (Avast! Free edition) flagged the file and then blocked the website :( Has anyone reported a similar issue to you? Unfortunately I didn't grab a screenshot for you I'll...

New Year! Any big FTA projects this year?

I may fabricate an arm for my spare P* 1.0M, plant and motorize it to go with the Amiko Mini HD SE I just ordered from Joe to see what C-band I can get with it (not expecting a lot, but also getting the C1PLL and conical scalar for hopefully a larger dish in the future).

Contest: Enter to Win an Amiko A3 Android Satellite Receiver & Media Center- Ends July 14th, 2014

    SES3 changeover

Dee Ann, the 13 degrees skew they recommend is a compromise meant for fixed dishes that you can change to now, still receive the current sat and not lose signal the instant they change to the new sat. They put that out sometime last year (I think) to give their customers time to adjust before...

    TS Video Converter Problem!

I use TSSplitter to combine the MicroHD files together (it does both splits and joins), and usually SmartCutter to edit the files followed by HandBrake to convert to MP4. Not an all-in-one solution like VideoReDo but works well for me. Also works with the TS files from my Hauppage USB tuner...

So, While watching FTA today, How cold did you get (outside)

Only hovered just below the freezing mark for us today, but we had freezing rain and sleet with that almost all day. As a result, between 1/8-1/4" of ice coating everything. Peaked just above freezing in the late afternoon.

    torodiol -t90

Good to know...I hadn't considered the phase noise aspect. The only non-PLL Ku LNBF I have is a Primestar dual-output from one of my 1M dishes and I currently don't have it installed. I very much doubt it would easily fit on the T55 without a custom mount.

    Why FTA?

Big brother monitoring your legal FTA habits? In practice, no more than they could monitor what you watch OTA (broadcast TV) or listen to on your radio. In theory, as more and more devices become net-connected--i.e. "the internet of things"--anything is possible. Any of the unencrypted...
