trying to update software in a Coolsat 8000

When I was using my CS8100 I used a USB stick to do the upgrade. From memory, connect the USB while the STB is off (back switch off), then switch on the CS; check if the USB is recognized and proceed to the upgrade. Mike

    AMC 21

I knew that when I installed my system back in 1994; but I watch mainly the signals out there mainly in the cold seasons, so no leaves then :) Mike

    AMC 21

Well it seems that the signals are not always constant; on my CS8100, sometimes I can get the 12140, and somettimes not. Also, there is a difference with the quallity level reported on my CS8100 and CS6100. For example, I have just checked that on CS6100 I have a QL of 45 % for 12180, and...

    AMC 21

I played with my BUD this afternoon, and the best that I could get is about 40% QL on 12180, and 20% on 12140. At least that's viewable. Thanks starman for the infos. Mike

    AMC 21

Thanks starman. Well, I guess it is because of the trees. Mike

Here I can receive the H signals from PBS, but Montana PBS hardly watchable; not been able yet to get the V ones, maybe it is because of the leaves blocking my view (see pic). Helios

    Coolsat 5000 Can't receive CW on G11

Strange! On my new CS6100 Private I get a signal of 85% and a level quality of 80% for on 3720 H / 26700; I entered manually the pids VPID 101 APID 102 PCR 101 but when I ask to scan this transponder, I get no TV or Radio channel at all. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Mike Edit: Got it...

    So I bought a Skystar 2

    Is LyngSat really reliable ?

I have a 10' BUD with C/Ku LNBs. I have been trying to get some FTA channels with my PCI card (SkyStar2) which does not do blind search. I got the signals for DW TV and La Cadena del Milagro on AMC1 (103W) with the following: LO : 5150 Freq: 3740 S/R 29270 7/8. I am using MythTV (Linux)...

Well... I think I need help

Just doing some readings about how work LNBs. Since the control is made by my analog IRD, I do not have to care about any commands sent to the LNBs by my software, right ? Mike

Well... I think I need help

For the last weeks or so, I have been struggling to get FTA channels with my SkyStar 2 2.6D DVB-S PCI card. I have a 10' BUD with Chaparral Corotor II; my Ku LNB is a 11.7- 12.2 GHz, Noise 0,7 dB, and the C LNB is a standard one (system bought in 1994). I use my analog IRD (Drake 1724) to aim...
