Azbox puts "protected content" on programs??

I'm glad you resolved it. :) Since other members might not have such equipment collection - some may just use a single AZBox as an STB - trying other options may help them under similar circumstances. When you mentioned it in a different thread, I wanted to look through what the problem is. :)

Azbox puts "protected content" on programs??

Since solution isn't found yet, I think we can keep the discussion here. I wonder about 2 things: - if you hook AZBox to HDMI1 TV port instead of HDMI2, do you face with the same issue, where DVR hooked to AZBox via Component cable stops recording? If not, it might be a FW bug in your TV...

I noticed nice formatting arrows in your post, but couldn't figure out, where they come from... Can't find them in posts formatting toolbox. :)

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

I honestly don't see, what degree of satellite TV knowledge you demonstrated by posting some screenshots of software, developed by a 3-d party, and not even posted by your own initiative? I failed to see any analytics either - something that comes straight from your own mind and experience, that...

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

mr3p Thanks for your detail screenshots! What made you think, I'm looking to be spoon fed? Do you need help in that department too? :D Just wanted to get some info posted on this forum by people who actually use Enigma 2 to get others interested in trying it. Nothing works better to get...

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

You're probably talking of Linux STB users? But the number of people buying Linux STBs steadily grows so no-one can safely assume they knew everything before ever trying, and most settle on factory firmware. It looks like the reason they never post clear explanations and pics about Enigma 2 is...

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

Interesting... Are you saying that Enigma2 fully replaces original AZBox firmware? Can you give any links covering "small factor PC soft portability" - what hardware models do they mean? :)

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

Xmm... My impression was, its not an OS, but a STB DVR & GUI App that is installed on top of AZBox firmware, replacing its own GUI (Graphical User Interface). In other words, its the same thing as DVBDream or DVBViewer app for a Sat PC Card. At least that's what it is for Dreambox: "Enigma 2...

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

I found probably the only on the web detail FAQ from a guy who develops some extra tools to integrate other soft with Enigma2, and also Wiki. From these documents it doesn't look like a piracy soft devoted to encrypted signal theft, and the sites don't look like piracy sites (pls let me know if...

enigma2 rc12 and neutrino hd have been released.

Since many AZBox users don't know what Enigma2 is, and what exact advantages it may offer to AZBox owners, may be you guys as regular Enigma2 users can do a detail write up on this? The trick is, even Enigma2 developers site says almost NOTHING about what this peace of... good software...

    Resolution Problem On Browser

Since AZBox is based on Sigma processors (not Intel made), a special Linux OS version must be used with it, which is supplied in a form of AZBox firmware. That FW includes a very slow version of unknown web browser. One can install Enigma2 Linux DVR & GUI to AZBox to make it easier to add other...

?? Access PC's video files from AZBox?

Possibly you simply have a slow network connection. HD would generally require Gigabit Ethernet to show uninterrupted 1080p pic oven LAN, and faster SATA hard drives are preferred choice. Even older CPUs and GPUs are generally fast enough for HTPC tasks. I doubt VLC would re-encode the streamed...

?? Access PC's video files from AZBox?

Thanks Keith, The info is very useful. In fact, there is no need to have a hard drive attached to AZBox, when you can save any show on a remote PC or network drive & file server. What file format it saves the stream in? If you are streaming over wired connection, how is HD feed pic quality?

?? Access PC's video files from AZBox?

    STREAMING from AZBox > PC

The distance would depend on the Wireless Router model you pick, firmware you use with it (consider DD-WRT) and RF noise level in your area. You can connect your own Antenna to a wireless router instead of its original one that can sharply extend the distance. People reported getting Wi-Fi high...

    STREAMING from AZBox > PC

Thanks Radar, Did you try to SAVE into a file on your PC Hard Drive the SD & HD content streamed from AZBox instead of playing it via VLC? If yes, what was the resulting file format & extension? Btw, you can setup VLC to read and play that partial file while its being gradually saved onto...

    STREAMING from AZBox > PC

In what formats AZBox streams video & audio over LAN - when watching SD MPEG2 & MPEG and HD MPEG4 & AC3 encoded channels with it? Anyone was able to stream from AZBox content recorded on its internal or connected to it USB hard drive? Anyone is using wired Ethernet port to stream from...

It well may be that current numbers are more relaxed. Also, it was measured via a Wi-Fi connection.

? FTP speeds from Azbox ?

B.J. There were various test results posted on the web regarding transfer speed btw AZBox and PC, and they also vary depending on AZBox FW version (the last one doesn't necessarily have the fastest transfer cap). I'm not sure if you measured transfer speed btw a connected to AZBox USB 2.0...

    Weird Problem with Azbox Premium

What LNB model do you use - bandstacking? Low end mechanical A/B switch can contribute to high frequency signal losses, and overall signal degradation. Try without it, and if it helps, replace it with a good Multiswitch - some like powered WNC SWA-48 cost $5 new on EBay if you catch it.
