iPhone 4GB 1st Generation on edge network....soon to be upgraded to 32GB 3GS

I think this is probably the last straw that will get me to upgrade my 2G iPhone to a 3GS iPhone. I can't even take advantage of MMS on the 2G version.

I've had problems at large sporting events where I can't do anything on a data network and have heard that on numerous occasions (Lakers Parade at the Coliseum, hardly anybody could send out any pics). Maybe "conjestion" at the local cell tower with so many phones in the area?

I think your title is off. There is no such thing as a SMS pic message. Any message with a pic in it is a MMS message. I assume your referring to the iPhones 3.0 software update to send MMS message. AT&T should be rolling it out soon: Is iPhone MMS imminent? | iPhone Atlas - CNET Reviews

Looks like a decent system, although you'll want to get the iPod connection accessory so it will run you a little more scratch.
