    focal distance question?

Thanks truckracer for your input, think I might actually use the 7.5ft I have for strickly Ku. For moving the dishes I have a Uniden UST710 controller? I have used this box for many years prior to switching to a programmable c band reciever. The UST710 is strickly a manually activated control...

    focal distance question?

Thanks for the responce. For dishes I have a 10ft winegard, 12ft conifer, unimesh 10ft, haul-tronics 10ft (this is the one that seems deeper then the others) 7.5ft "country tv", not sure who actually made it. In addition I have numerous actuators including a couple of 36in von wiese most are...

    focal distance question?

Using a 10ft mesh, all other things being equal, which is would be preferred for c/ku combo, a shallow, or a deep dish. I understand the deep dish will require more acurate aiming but are there any other pros or cons to either one. My dish hunting has produces 3 10fts 1 appears to be much deeper...

Why did I wait so long?

Yuuuup....things to consider, I remember seeing an advertisment or something from Mike at Global ? That he called the "the hill-billy cable system"...I liked that concept...as I said before economy is a goal but not really a requirement. Ill just let this thing take me where it wants to for awhile.

Why did I wait so long?

gabspere, Yes this would be my second dish, connected to the same receiver ( pansat) have a plan to use the dicsque for the polarity/dish selection and a homemade multi pole switch for choosing between actuators. Part of that plan considered using one dish for east one for west as you mentioned...

Why did I wait so long?

Well I recieved and installed my Pansat 2700a over the last couple of days. Used my exsisting 10ft echostar that has fairly bad hail damage, a Echostar 40deg LNB C band only and the exsisting actuator. I tryed to slave a Country and Town reciever, that was a partical success but not totally able...

    Took the leap!..or small step?

The first dish line will be a 10 ft Echostar mesh with a echostar lnb 950ib at 40deg K. mounted on a fixed Chaparrel feed horn. I know thats hign noise for digital but it is already on the dish and it worked fantasticly for analog. This dish will be moved buy a super jack. Some of the other...

    Took the leap!..or small step?

Well guys I made the jump, as I promised myself, I decided to order a FTA today. Closed my eyes, picked a dealer and ordered a Pansat 2700a. Decided to stay with that choice because I have several Lnbs that require a servo drive. I figured on trying whatever I have and add to or replace items...

    c band reciever options

Truckracer: from what I know I agree 2700a is more like a maybe a 65 Chevy Impala.....when would I actually have to worry about using the data connections anyway, Im not sure I really understand that part other than if the thing crashed somehow and I lost the channels stored in memory right...

    c band reciever options

Kgbhdg: yes I know about Vbox, that however fall under "economy as a goal heading" once I get a good start into his Fta thing maybe worth considering but for now I would even consider what ive seen as "getto moving" ... as for the reciever...I do think I want a blind scan but as I just posted by...
