That's not going to work. You need to download the channel maps from a C band satellite.
That would be Motorola or the ACC ( Access Control Center) which is owned by Comcast , but they won't help you.
You need to download the channel maps. There is no way to enter them manually. It's in the instruction manual.
If you don't have the manual, try these instructions: NPS - Your One Call Solution

Huh?
Are you looking for an alternative to a Motorola 4DTV receiver for DCII signals? Then the answer is no. There is no alternative.
Otherwise, please clarify what you are looking for.
It doesn't matter if a 905 is similar to a 405, the connectors on the back are different. The 905 has C and Ku band connections.
It would probalby cost more to convert a 405 to a 905 then it would cost to buy a 905.
I'll reiterate DON'T TOUCH THE PROBE!!!
It's real easy to screw it up.
Here is the Chaparral Feedhorn Guide:

Here's a tip:
When trying to lock a digital channel, make a small change and wait a few moments to see the results.
Unlike analog there is a short delay to see the effects of a change when trying to tune the digital channels.
Only if you have a smaller dish, but why would it suddenly happen?
Most likely the dish went slightly out of alignment. Have you had any strong storms lately?
A small tune-up is probably called for.
The focal point for different feedhorns should be similar, but remember they are adjustable for a reason. Your calculations are only a close estimate. It's still best to fine tune it.
