wealth of tuners/players to choose from
Does this recorder act as a player as well?
My new TV has about 10 inputs.
The composite video and audio line from one FTA receiver just goes directly through the
R/S DVD recorder.
So, as I look at it, ya select
Composite #2 for FTA, -
or- for test-playing DVDs made from it.
That being the newest hardware added, I don't normally think to play a DVD in it, but as Iceberg says, it'll sure do the job.
Normally, there's a blank DVD in the recorder, in case I get an urge for an immediate recording.
One button-press will initiate recording, . . . if you can find the proper remote and hit the correct button.
Normally, I'd put a disc in the new up-converting
RCA DRC290, 5-disc changer I just got.
Prior to that, the hi fi amplifier with its 3-disc changer would have been the player of choice.
That's the result of not having a unified plan when you put together your a/v hardware.
The reason I kidded Iceberg above about whether or not the DVD recorder has a tuner is because I have three other tuner sources:
- off-the-air in hi def right on the new TV
- Dish satellite through a PVR
- FTA through the above DVD recorder
The point being, whether the DVD recorder had yet another tuner , was just the last thing I needed to think about!
And the same applies to playing the discs.
I'm sure many of you have far more complicated and convoluted set-ups.
For the readers who don't know about the equipment on-line at the Iceberg or Linuxman homes, let's just say it makes my little lash-up pale in comparison!
This is about all I can handle for now.
. . . and what the heck am I going to do with the other five inputs? . . .
Don't tell me: "
Plant more dishes!" ?
