Voom has made some progress but it has also created some headaches for some folks. I believe the HD race has begun; both E* and D* have DVRs already in the market and it looks like D* (BravoHD+, plus others) will start to add more HD. VOOM DVRs is expected this fall but it is anyone's guess right now.

Yeah, here's the problem. You could be waiting two months, you COULD be waiting until Sept 2005. You just don't know.
And what if the Voom DVR costs $1000? You also don't know it won't - and with the multi-room features, it certainly isn't unreasonable.
As far as followers - I'm not trying to get any. I'm just explaning my point of view as it relates to the title of this thread - "are you still happy with voom." When my HDTivo arrives (it got shipped yesterday), Voom will be losing one of it's more loyal followers - dig up some old threads if you don't believe me. Heck, I even talked my parents into dumping Comcast for Voom.
Will I be switching back to Voom? With $1000 invested in D* - no way. That's Voom's problem. I was willing to wait until the fall season started. Some people are willing to wait until Christmas. Whatever your individual deadline is - Voom needs to hurry the he!! up.
As far as making money - it's more of a figure of speech. There's 24 hours in a day. 7 days in a week. I could watch an NFL game for 3 hours live on Sunday or I could watch it in 1.5 with Tivo - not miss any of the action, just skip over the commericals. What do I do with that extra hour and a half? Spend it with my kids, excercise, maybe make a few sales calls. Point is, I'm not sitting on the couch for 3 hours - an hour and a half of which, I'd be watching commercials.

Once you toss a grand at D* for that HDTivo you're stuck, if in 2 months V* has a DVR are you going to just shelf your thousand dollar Tivo and switch back to V* for the DVR? No I have patience I guess, and enough content to watch, when the DVR comes out I'm sure I'll have to use nipple clamps to contain the excitement BUT.. I can wait until then.
PS- how exactly do you "earn your money back" off an optional entertainment item? You seem convinced Voom's DVR is scheduled for September 2005? ( a year's worth of programming maybe worth the $1,000 DVR plunge until then ).

While on many of the sports channels and non sports channels there is a multi view option button. It will pull up a side bar with many different multi view options.

To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
For niche use cases, yes I agree. Kali for ethical hacking and security testing, and running a Cacti server for network monitoring are the two things I have experience in. Plus thousands and thousands of other things, but for every day use I just can't see it. The owner of the GMRS repeater that I pay to access is changing the Tx DPL tones tomorrow, while Chirp is available on Linux, the software to program my MXT500 is not.To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
I run Fedora and Ubuntu in VMWare, honestly I don't care much for the UI of either of them and I don't feel like spending days/weeks to customize the UI to make it look Windows-like when I could just use Windows. The cartoonish dock at the bottom of the screen reminds me of Apple products.
For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
Is anyone else also having the same problem? Thanks in advance.

Not for me, mines has no mention of how long aka the offer period and the Terms and conditions the $0.00 is good for. All I see is one can lose $5.00 if you decide to remove it before day 31 after you add it to the account.

Help, I'm a little confjused on the activation process.
I purchased the Joey 4 from Solid Signal and shipping box has Call 866 726-4282 to Avtivate new Receiver. That number is Solid Signals number.
I googled and that search said call Dish to activate. I assume that is correct unless this requires a 2 step process.
Please let me know.

All good called Dish and new Joey 4 is activated and working.

i bought mine straight from dish as it was only $ 100.00 bucks!!! had the protection plan they came out removed and deactivated the 4k joey and activated and installed the joey 4.All good called Dish and new Joey 4 is activated and working.
