Well I don't know if you guys remember my posting about this dish in one of my dish hunting threads, but lo and behold, my hunting may have paid off.
The maintenance manager at the motel where this dish resides called me this afternoon, and said that he will call me back by this Wednesday about it becoming my property.
I left my card there over a year ago, and he kept it.
I am feeling much better, but will need a bunch of help to retrieve this momma! Then I don't know where I am going to put it once I have it. :yikes:
I might just get it and bring it up here for safe-keeping until I or someone on this forum might want it.

I am going to have to think about it long and hard before coming out of dish hunting retirement for this dish.
The only thing I can think of that might make it worthwhile is if it might be possible to use it stationary to get multiple C and Ku satellites off this one dish.
How many satellites do you think is possible to get off this one dish?

I am pretty sure I understand the concepts of the 8X1 un-committed and committed diseqc switches. I also have a pretty good grasp of how 22Khz switches work.
The part I don't have a good grasp on is how to get the signal from all those lnbfs to multiple receivers so they don't interfere with each other.

Well, I think VoomVoom has a more reasonable requirement.
Probably has only the one 4DTV receiver.
And apparently just the one C-band dish to move.
You have how many 4D's?
None of them are going to talk to fixed C-band dishes, unless THEY are slaved to some other receiver.
Mostly, 'cause I don't think they have a mechanism to choose which dish they talk to.
I think once you solve that problem, then the rest of the problems will be much simpler.
On another note, how about putting three LNBF's on a BUD?
If you recall a recent thread by Iceberg, he did one LNBF at the focus, and one LNBF off to just one side.
That was his six-foot Fortec Star dish.
I forget the spacing, but you could probably manage 4° .
Try rearanging your bird-list a bit, and see if two dishes, with 4° birds, covering the same part of the sky, would help the problem.
In other words, get every other bird on one dish, and the remaining sats on the 2nd.

As I wrote above, the 4DTV receivers I have will each have their own separate dish to satisfy their needs and won't be part of the equation.

I wasn't trying to kick sand....sorry.
I have four coax feeds from the house to the array, and have each reciever modulated to a different channel IE Merc II to ch4, DP311 to Ch24, Neusat to Ch36, piped throughout the house. I'm using Powermid remote extenders at each tv, and planning to get a couple of learning remotes to reduce that clutter. You could get the whole arc on a few centralized recievers with simpler switch wiring.

The new curated multiview is now live.
While on many of the sports channels and non sports channels there is a multi view option button. It will pull up a side bar with many different multi view options.

Hmmm, I'm not seeing anything like those events in our Hopper 3 guide for tonight or Saturday.
I went into the Tools menu and requested a Guide Update. I'll try looking at it after the update completes.
edit — I now have the 148-01 4KFox events for Saturday, but not anything for 148-02 or 148-03 which don't even show as available channels. I do have 148-04 4KUSA.

On Tuesday, I recorded the first episodes of the new season's NCIS shows on CBS (Dish provided, not OTA). The new New York series and Origins will both do Auto Skip, but the original, now season 24 does not. What's stranger, when I do a search for NCIS, Origins and New York show the current recording and the next episode it will record, but the original show only shows the current recording and some other channel showing the very first episode of season one. It makes no sense. When I set up the timers, I was able to use search for Origins and New York, but for the original, I had to scroll ahead in the guide until last Tuesday when the show was airing. Then set the timer from there. You can see its timer type is DVR where the other two are Seek. What am I missing?

To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
For niche use cases, yes I agree. Kali for ethical hacking and security testing, and running a Cacti server for network monitoring are the two things I have experience in. Plus thousands and thousands of other things, but for every day use I just can't see it. The owner of the GMRS repeater that I pay to access is changing the Tx DPL tones tomorrow, while Chirp is available on Linux, the software to program my MXT500 is not.To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
I run Fedora and Ubuntu in VMWare, honestly I don't care much for the UI of either of them and I don't feel like spending days/weeks to customize the UI to make it look Windows-like when I could just use Windows. The cartoonish dock at the bottom of the screen reminds me of Apple products.
As I said above, and, FWIW, I run Win11 Pro and Arch on separate 250 GB NVME drives, using F8 to select which I boot to, with a 1TB SSD for storage, accessible to both OSs and a third formatted Nvme I want to use to learn Kali. It was much faster to setup Arch than it was to strip down Windows. Windows still takes much longer to boot.
