My ViP622 HDMI died last night after nearly two years of faithful service. I know it's the same solder problem that is common - if I "pull up" on the HDMI cable, I can get a picture again for a few seconds. I'm relatively happy with Dish Network especially since my local Cable Company doesn't carry a couple channels that I watch regularly (HDNet and Big Ten Network).
Here is my problem, and I appreciate any advice you can offer.
When my 18 month commitment expired, I cancelled my DHPP service. Does that mean I will now have to pay for a replacement ViP622? If so, what are my options? Can I sign up for DHPP and get a replacement immediately?
If Dish fights me on this, I will leave open a switch to DirecTV. Will I be able to utilize the same in house cabling for DirecTV with just a new satellite dish?

Love this guy's channel. Looks like Walmart has thrown in the towel when it comes to conventional car batteries.
I bought a new AGM battery from Walmart about a year ago, it is already needing replacing. I thought about just buying a regular battery but from what I've read, that might not be a smart move. Might check my Forscan program and see if I can change the battery type from AGM.

Now right up front....this is NOT intended to devolve into a "pot is good" vs "pot is bad" thread. The whole point is to make you aware of a potential problem that a person can develop when they start smoking pot at a young age. Not that they WILL, but CAN. Kinda like getting lung cancer from smoking cigs....some do, some don't. The purpose of posting this news story is to keep anyone from paying an outrageous emergency room bill......knowledge is power.

I set up a music server for my brother a few years ago. It's basically a small headless computer but it needs to have a DHCP IP address reserved for it in the router settings. This was easy to do in his DSL router. He's switching to Starlink now and I was wondering if these setting are easily accessible in the Starlink router. I'm pretty sure he will be getting the latest V5 router.

If you can restrict the DHCP address space to assign addresses to one end of the subnet (i.e. x.x.x.50+), you can manually assign the IP address on pretty much any operating system. This is a default behavior on several popular routers. As the Router Mini only supports 235 devices, I expect that's already done.
