Here is a C/P of an E-mailing I got from Mike Kohl on the Manhattan.

Our first introduction to the market is the Manhattan-Digital model RS-1933 receiver. Many months of testing and reconfiguring
an original design have resulted in a final product that revolutionizes Free-To-Air reception. It is capable of MPEG-2 as well as MPEG-4
reception, in both the DVB-S and DVB-S2 formats. Reliable and easy to operate blind scanning functions find new and unknown
channels in all of these formats. Up to 100 satellite and 7000 channel capacity. A single circuit board design eliminates the need for separate
DVB-S2 modules, with the end result being a better and more reliable product that has little or no heating buildup. Breakthroughs in receiver design have
dramatically lowered pricing over previous competition. Many functions that previously required detailed setup such as manually inputting
complex data in order to accomplish a blind scan for DVB-S2 signals have been replaced by a number of automatic features.
Dolby digital audio and several other audio formats are processed internally and automatically without the need for additional equipment.
High Definition is processed automatically, and can be connected to your HD set with either an HDMI cable or direct component
cables (red/green/blue video). RCA connections are supplied, so standard definition equipment can use the standard Yellow composite
video port. Red and White RCA audio connections are also available. DVR functionality is built in, allowing for a USB connection to
a memory stick for data transfer and occasional recording. We recommend purchase of a separate external hard drive with dedicated
power supply for maximum storage capacity, flexibility and reliability of recording and archiving.
The Manhattan RS-1933 future-proofs digital reception as many new and existing services are converting to the new MPEG-4 format.

I asked him about the differences in the specs in the manual vs. the e-mailing. He explains...
The manual was written for the previous 2 Mb memory version of this receiver, and has those lower capacities. All current production units are 4 Mb, and you will have 7000 channel/100 satellite capacity with them.
Manual will be updated in a short time after we receive production units, and have had a chance to check out little details like this with live signals.

I hope me, too. Haven't heard yet from Mike Kohl on shipping, but I talked with his wife and know that he has the boxes. I'll be quite happy if it's as good as the Openbox S9 . There's even room for more happiness yet, if it happens to be better at meeting it's specs.It will be tried out next week my friend..
We had attempted to develop the 422 codec approach with the current ALI chipsets last year and understand the issues involved. We were unable to provide reliable decoding all 422 transmissions. When the function is not native, the CPU demand is too great. This is why we abandoned 422 quest on the lower end STB.
422 process can be added to most receivers with a daughter board, but then the hardware solution costs more than the chipsets that can do 422p.

Brent, I do think you will be happy.. Just going by the beta box...It performs as good and better than the Openbox...extra features right away...add PID with remote.. Keeps time, records ect, pretty nice I would say.
LNB settings should be much more advanced also..
The best thing will be support..I'm pretty sure things will get fixed with this new STB, and features added if possible..

But.....if you like Tulsa King....looks like you would probably like this as well. I don't mind spin-offs as long as they don't involve a sassy niece who moves from the big cityAnother Tulsa King spin off.
I thought I would come here and find lots of complaints about the update to the dish anywhere mobile app, but am not seeing any. It used to look just like the desktop webpage. Now you can no longer filter by sports channels or movie channels. Plus that they made it look like a big button telephone and you see fewer channels in the screen which requires more scrolling. Yes I realize you can look at sports then select which sport you want to look at, I just liked being able to see all sporting events in the guide with all other channels being filtered out. Am I alone in the wilderness on this?

Might be worth a watch when it comes out. Looks like typical big corp against the little guy movie BUT....there is a reason this plot type is so oft repeated, it draws audiences.

If you're going try to read / listen to the book (can't recommend the audio book enough) before this comes out, I'd avoid trailers.
Trailer below, spoiling it to make sure you read the above bold message first. The book / audio book are fantastic. Go into this blind if you can IMO!
Kind of disappointed at how much they show. A lot still to see, but man, some good reveals in the book that are just served up here.

I had quit watching this show years ago because I ended up more annoyed than entertained. Well......I'm STILL more annoyed than entertained. I DO find it interesting to see how things work behind the scenes at many businesses. What annoys me is how utterly out of touch CEOs are with the companies they run. At the end of almost every episode the head of the company is amazed at how hard the employees have to work and many times have to work around impossible guidelines set forth from headquarters.
I found this one interesting because the new CEO had big plans for this company, Muscle Maker Grill, and it looked like the stores were all pretty busy. Recent history hasn't been good to this company however. I bet the covid lockdowns were the real killer.
