Bluray Titles LONG WAIT and NOT AVAILABLE in Store ???

Before Dish took over BB I had real good service. Now I'm seeing so many more people coming into the stores doing exchanges. This is great news for Dish/BB, but now all the movies I want are always checked out. Too much demand, not enough stock. And to make things worse, I've got 10 titles in my queu right now that are Long Wait and some of them are not even available for rent (Bluray) at any of my local stores:

"Don't be afraid of the dark" Guillermo del Toro & Katie Holmes
"Contagion" Matt Damon & Jude Law
"Midnight in paris" Owen Wilson & Rachel MCaddams

These are major titles and the stores are not even carrying them on Bluray??? And they don't stock enough of them for shipment either.... Seems like they are trying to force us to $$ VOD them to squeeze even more money out of us...

I know this may be a hard question to answer as people who hold on to disks longer then a while. But with renting and returning how many new movies per month are you averaging a month

I am on the one disc plan. I have had 11 disc in the last month. Use in store exchange for all disc. DVds mailed from Houston usually take two days, but my queue says allow three.

One at a time by mail & return in store plan (new release bluray discs in my queue only):
Before Dish took over I got 7-8 discs a month.
After Dish took over I now get 2-3 discs a month.

The disc part of this plan is now a waste. I have to email BB customer support every week and demand a store coupon because they don't ship me anything at all in the mail. I've asked for a refund and BB told me "this is a non billed account so that is not possible". I can't drop the plan or I loose platinum channels. They have us trapped. They are trying to force us to use $6.99 PPV for new releases by limiting stock. The "Unlimited discs by mail" plan is crippled.

I've been getting 8 @ month, all by mail, all Blurays---the nearest store is not "near" enough. I'm on the "2 @ a time" plan. Not quite as fast shipping as Netflix was but since we already were Platinum HD subs it's been a good deal for us for $5 @ month more than we were paying.

I've noticed that I've been getting the next movie in my que sent out to me a few days before the receive in the movie I just sent back. I'm assuming they have tracking on them so they can see when the movie hits your local post office, and as soon as they see that they send out your next movie??

Also Trying to find the distribution centers for them is quite hard, I've seen a few listings that show one in Pittsburgh PA, well I'm in Erie Pa which is only a few hours away but yet my movies get sent from Dallas Tx and get returned to somehwere in NC.

I like the Jimmy Fallon channel. This will be its third year. I like that it's all fresh each year. Also fun when he pops on live from time to time.

Terrible tragedy. You would think that they would have safe guards in place that would prevent something like this from happening. I guess if you are going to ride in a passenger train it might be best to get a car near the rear.

It's probably been 2 decades since I've listened to an AM radio station. Very rarely listen to FM any more.

That goes for a lot of people. I've been advertising on radio for more than a decade now and am very familiar with this subject. While it is still a valuable tool, it has far less impact than it did just a few years ago. The best reaction I get is from a local Country music station....they play a mix of older and newer music and have a very big footprint.

No, just regular FM stations. One is the country station I mentioned and the other is a Talk Radio station which used to get fantastic results but honestly, since the death of Rush Limbaugh, talk radio just doesn't do as well. There were two guys who had an early morning show which was hugely popular here in the southeast but one of them retired a couple years ago and the show just doesn't garner the same numbers as it used to.

I can't recall having encountered a local ad on Sirius, and I don't imagine it is any different on XM.

Both, and they just made it official with a multiyear deal that also includes TV Everywhere authentication for the DAZN app, and commercial distribution.

DIRECTV, the premier provider of digital television entertainment in the United States, and DAZN, the world's leading sports entertainment platform, today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement for local telecasts of Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs games for DIRECTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in each team's respective NBA-designated home territories.

These DAZN telecasts will be available to DIRECTV customers who subscribe to the Choice or higher packages and to U-verse TV customers who subscribe to the U200 or higher package. Each of DAZN's team services provides live pregame, postgame, and in-game coverage for the respective team.

In the coming weeks, customers who receive access to these teams via DIRECTV will also be able to login to the DAZN platform at no additional cost using their DIRECTV login credentials.

This agreement also provides distribution rights to each of the five NBA teams to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS' thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within each team's respective region.

All DMA's now Western Arc

I know HipKat said that they were working on conversions but we got the official news yesterday right from Dish that starting next month all DMA's will be on the western arc, and all customers will be assigned to that. That's gonna mean a lot of customers around here aren't gonna get Dish unless there are exceptions. Too many mountains and trees.

Even if you are broadcasting old SD-only shows, I would think advertisers would still want their commercials to look good.

Advertisers on SD channels are probably Far and Few, very hard to find, they have very few viewers to watch them.

I watch mostly SD channels (H&I, Start and ION, etc.). There are plenty of advertisers, this time of the year it is mostly Medicare Advantage plans, auto extended warranties and the occasional walk-in-tub. They know who is watching.

Dish should use both satellite and internet like they do now for all channels. Use either or or both.... like now but subscribers could choose something like internet only, or sat only, or both.
